Went here for drinks/snacks with friends on a Thursday evening and waited...forever? for everything? Lol. I've been here twice at Christmas and everything was awesome. This was a totally different experience. I was psyched to see they had a hot dog, but the chili on it has way too much cinnamon. The bartender did make a great aviation. Overall it's still cute and I'd go back, but it's expensive and especially having to wait like we just did, it might be a while.

Birdie's has become my husband and I's go-to date night spot. We first visited during the Evergreen pop up and had one of the best times. It was such a fun way to celebrate the holidays between the festive cocktails and the beautifully decorated interior. Every time we go, we get AT LEAST a dozen oysters and I would definitely venture to say that it is the thing that they do the best for sure. The accoutrements are perfect and all of the oysters are fresh and clean. They offer a variety and they are organized on the menu from saltiest to sweetest, which is helpful for people like myself who enjoy oysters frequently! We have also enjoyed some others on their menus. Here's what I would highly recommend: COCKTAILS- Sparrow (perfect pairing for oysters, you won't find better), I'm a Pretty Little Birdie, Bloody Mary for Brunch. They also serve Blanchard's Coffee. FOOD- house made salt & vinegar chips are DIVINE. Oysters are a must obviously. Also enjoyed the Lobster Roll, Cucumber & Honey Dew (Brunch), Biscuits & Gravy (Brunch) and Shrimp & Grits (Brunch). A few things that I personally wouldn't recommend is the hot dog, Shrimp Toast, Night Owl, and Crudo. I think the quality for the food was there, these just weren't my favorite flavor wise. The Night Owl has a banana component, and is not what I'm looking for when I am in the mood for an espresso martini. So it is a no from me, although my husband enjoyed it. The service here is slow during brunch, but prompt during dinner service. Overall, we LOVE Birdie's and will continue to frequent and bring friends and family when they are in town.

Considering this restaurant seats 32 including the bar & outside dining, is staffed by 6, including bartender, manager, 2 servers and 2 prep/shuck cooks in food production (6+ staff overall with no significant hot prep, cook or chef) service is inexplicably slow even with such a limited menu. >>Poor organization & oversight is evident as is a lack of sophistication of service<<. This staff and format should easily be capable of providing a more diverse menu, better service and a reason to mail the postcard provided with the check that includes a 20% gratuity. Dining outside in the arts & road race district however, may be worth the pain.

Beware: Three (3) small vodka Martinis and a bit of creamed cabbage cost me 100 bucks. ( Did I mention it was lunch?) Nice setting - loved the wash room. No parking. First and last visit ...

Party of 3 for lunch, I had the lobster roll, pictured. Roll was decent but the burn chips were nasty and bitter. I ask my waitress about the chips and complained and she says thats how they are with no sort of empathy or would you like something else? Looking at other people’s pictures mine were much darker.Crab dip was tasty and oysters were great. So party of three with an automatic gratuity of 20%. I’m all for tipping well if I feel it’s deserved but to force a 20% on a party of 3 seems uncalled for. An auto gratuity I feel leads to poor service because the server knows that 20% is guaranteed earned or not.Because of these issues I don’t plan on returning.

Excellent oysters. Cool small vibe atmosphere. Had the best roasted cabbage dish. Could have eaten 2 more! Great place to eat before a show at National/Altria/Dominion.

Great ambiance, fantastic seafood, excellent service. It’s only missing a star because I found the cocktails average in their flavor profile and a bit underwhelming with their presentation. They were still good, though, and considering how wonderful everything else was, I would definitely return. We ordered some raw oysters, shrimp toast, and blue crab dip. Each was excellent- very fresh and high-quality.I can’t remember the names of our drinks, but the menu was different than the ones found here on Google, which causes me to think they rotate their selections. Fun! Overall lovely experience.

I've been to birdies mostly during the holidays, and love the themed drinks and decorations. But on a regular day it's just as quaint. It's a small space so reservations are best. But I've had luck with my group of 3-4 either being sat immediately or with a less than 30mins wait. And service is always great. I'm not an oyster fan, and the menu is limited but the drinks are always great. I've had the lobster roll & shrimp toast, and both are pretty good. When you can catch dessert, order it! The squash cheesecake I had here was DELICIOUS.

Birdie's is the spottt. It's my go to for out of town friends looking for a fun cocktail or afternoon latte. Another establishment I can walk to which is nice. However, I go for the service and the Instagram worthy photos. Even luckier when you can make it during the holidays!

Not sure about the food, but this was one of the few places to get a nice coffee after the local Starbucks close on a Saturday night. Even though it doesn't look like a coffee bar, it surely is -- and you can walk in and get a coffee to go. Thanks for being there when we needed you!

I went with my mom to Evergreen at Birdies! The decorations were very pretty and even though we went after Christmas it still felt like we were in a Christmas dreamland. It could've been in a hallmark movie it was that cute! The service was nice and the girl who served us was very friendly told us it takes 2 days for them to shut down and set it up for Evergreen! It's GORGEOUS! I got the Broken Bulb and it was a little strong but it did taste good. I was wanting to try more than one drink but the drink being so strong made me not able to. My mom and I also got the crab dip and it was delicious I just wish there was more chips to it. it's not a lot of food when splitting. There weren't a lot of tables but you could sit at the bar which was nice. but we made reservations and sat at one of the small tables. I want to go back to Birdies for just Birdies too!

Went to the Evergreen pop up at Birdie's over the holiday and it was wonderful! Decorated so festive for the holiday and the food...top notch! The menu is small but what they do is amazing. The best hot dog I've had in my life. I could've eaten 2 plates of the deviled eggs. Service was quick and efficient, great way to celebrate the season
