The service is incredibly slow, and just felt pretty unaccommodating. It’s a fairly small place on Broad st so hard to get a table unless you reserve. There was also a hair in our tuna that the waiter just pulled out and didn’t do anything about which was pretty gross - the food and drinks were otherwise good, but there’s places that can do both well.
I stopped in on my drive from North Carolina to DC. The lobster roll at Birdie's was highly recommended, so I tried one Connecticut style. The lobster roll was as good as I have ever had. The house made chips were great as well. Cool atmosphere and great service. I will be back when I am passing through Richmond.
Birdie’s is absolutely adorable — the vibe is cozy and Parisian in the best possible way. The staff was warm and friendly from the moment we walked in, which only added to the charm. The oysters were outstanding and the Sparrow Cocktail is a must-order. I’d go back for those two alone! A lovely spot in Richmond that I’ll definitely be returning to.
