They changed the recipe for the non dairy from coconut to oatmilk. I cant have oatmilk. i bought 2 pints yesterday and got super sick last night..I knew it tasted different and now gross, I had to stop eating it. No notice was put out before the change. I bought pints every week and brought all my friends and family here because it was the only non dairy ice cream in Virginia beach that didn't make me sick. This is such a bummer. we wont be able to go back now.

Blue cow is hands down the best ice cream spot I’ve been to in RVA! Soooo many flavors to choose from :). Absolutely love the environment. Definitely recommend!

Sea salt brickle with caramel swirl was exceptional. Gelati Celesti has serious competition!

The perfect place to try new flavors. The originality blows me away each time. They are happy to recommend flavors and let you try them. Friendly staff. Always a pleasant experience.

Blue Cow has some delicious ice cream. Their flavors are great and taste very rich; I love being able to take my gluten free family members here as it’s a delicious treat I know everyone will enjoy. There’s plenty of flavor profiles for everyone. It’s a nice spot to hang out. The environment is always very clean.

However, the customer service is extremely hit or miss. I’ve come in several times and had stellar service, with everyone being incredibly helpful and super friendly. Other times, you get the vibe the employees don’t want to be there.

Once I came 8 minutes prior to closing to quickly grab a treat to go, and the girl working saw me, power walked towards the door, and tried to lock it in my face, lol. They reluctantly let me in after I pointed out the hours nicely and told them I already knew what I wanted and was getting it to-go, but the other staff were obviously irritated with me even though I was in and out in under 2 minutes. I know it’s frustrating to serve towards the end of your shift when you're nearly closed, and I’m sure other customers have seriously overstayed long after closing time, so I understand where they’re coming from, but it was still a weird interaction.

Ultimately, that hasn’t deterred me from coming back again during the middle of the day— the ice cream really is so delicious, and in a convenient spot.

Very disappointed with our experience there. All of the ice cream seemed old and the waffle cone was hard as a rock, thought I might loose a tooth trying to eat it

This is the best ice cream i’ve had since i could remember! the service was impeccable and from the moment I walked in I felt very welcomed and attended to. The atmosphere is a perfect blend between modern and comfort. You will not regret visiting this store! The perfect place to bring anyone for any occasion really. One of the flavors i tried was pumpkin and it tasted just like the pie my nana used to make!

Their $9 milkshake is just all milk and a hint of ice cream (maybe). All I tasted was milk. It was the worst strawberry milkshake I ever tried. I took a few sips and tossed it in the nearest outside trashcan.

Never had a bad Ice cram experience until today. Ordered a ten dollar chocolate milk shake... It tasted like a harsh chemical plastic in my mouth. The staff promptly made a vanilla milk shake same unpleasant taste. To my disbelief in my experience.. I asked the staff to taste what they made. They agreed it did not taste right... So what did I just consume??? First and last time for Blue Cow Ice Cream Co

I’ve been three times! The service is top notch! The ice cream is the best in Richmond, hands down. Made with high quality ingredients and worth the price 100%. And house made waffle cones. They’re amazing.

I’ve had the Ironclad Chip (ironclads HOU beans are some of the best around) , banana pudding (hands down the best banana pudding ice cream I’ve ever had, made with real caramelized banana), birthday cake (with house made cake chunks), sea salt caramel (caramel made by them), and cookies and cream. All were delicious. I have not met a flavor that I didn’t like.
