Blue Habanero - Street Tacos & Tequila

Had a great experience here. Parking was not as difficult as it could have been given there's no lot. It's street parking so measure your expectations. But I went on a big game day for world cup and was parked and seated pretty quickly.

The atmosphere was a pretty cool looking Mexican decor. It was also about what you'd expect for a bar type restaurant on game night. A little loud and busy but I've had far worse. I appreciate that the seating wasn't too congested and the food was delicious.

I ordered the birra tacos with white rice. All of which was great. Can't really ruin birras in my opinion, however I couldn't max out the rating on since I have had better. I hear the risotto was amazing though. The portion and pricing was about as reasonable as you could expect.

So overall, I'd definitely return and you likely won't regret trying this location, but I think there are slightly better options in Richmond.

One of my favorite spots in Richmond! The quesabirria tacos are INCREDIBLE! Great selection of drinks and the margaritas are the best. Highly recommend.

good was AWESOME and came out i kid you not in 3 minutes. sounds like an exaggeration but its not. get the tacos and try a marg! delish! kinda sad there’s no free chips but it’s ok. service was good. only problem is the seating is pretty uncomfortable and we were next to some screaming kids. i actually love kids and think they should be brought places but they were so bad, and i just wish the staff had tried to be a little conscious and not sit people near them, but it’s ok

If you come here, you HAVE to order the nacho supreme. Perfectly filling for two people. It comes loaded with tons of toppings. A nice marg or pina colada to wash it down

I went here on a Thursday night , reservation for 6 for a birthday dinner. They weren't super busy so we got there at a perfect time.
As soon as we walked in we were seated and our server came out, friendly and smiling.
She helped us with drinks, I chose the strawberry margarita. Let me tell you something... that margarita was delicious and had me feeling nice. It was just enough.
Then our appetizer/starter came out, a Trio sampler. This is absolutely enough for 4 people. It is queso, creamy guacamole, salsa and a large pan of gmo corn chips. (Tortilla chips) the salsa and queso sauces had a little kick to them, but the guacamole was more mild. All three tasted really good too.
My entree was a veggie bowl that had a mix of greens, black beans, cilantro rice, pico and I put the sour cream on the side. I didn't even eat it. I'm glad I didn't cause my bowl was delicious without it.
Last but not least, the vibe in here was beautiful, there's a lot of cinco de mayo day of the dead decor that make awesome background

Good food and service. The restaurant can get loud when it gets busy which makes having conversations difficult. Need something to absorb the acoustics so you can hear people speaking next to you.

Got the chilli lime shrimp tacos delicious the spicy cilantro margarita spicy and wonderful, the homemade hot sauce perfection. Servers were very attentive and the atmosphere is very fun. Would go again.

This Dia de Los Muertos-themed bar is fun and tasty with great deals on drinks and food at Happy Hour (daily from 2 to 6). It's an icon in one of RVA's most alive neighborhoods. It's the kind of place I've been coming back to for years.

We had a great meal last night. The food was delicious, flavorful and generous. The $3 tray of chips and salsa was fresh and huge The carnitas in my Gigante Burrito were scrumptious. Enjoyed the festive and warm atmosphere. The service was right on track and very friendly. We are looking forward to going back.
