Chez Foushee Restaurant & Bar

Visited for a fixed menu New Years Eve Dinner For the price, a tragedy. Two entree choices only. Meat or fish. Well ok, When I initially booked I was led to believe it might be a bit more but I'd live with the two if they were unique. So if you pick one it's essentially a catered meal. Picking the meat , one could "dress it up" if you , on order, wanted a touch of caviar or lump crabmeat on it. Truly creative. Without going into smaller errors along the way when it was served both my spouse and I were surprised our meals were cold. Not even lukewarm, but cold. The two plates obviously had just sat there before serving. We sent them both back. Then, the most classic blunder of all, they "re-warmed it" and re-served it to us. 3-6 minutes to cook a fresh MR tenderloin. I mean, really? For a $400.00 plus meal that's what you do? This to me fell short in many ways. Chef control on food going out, service and most importantly a manager should have caught this and requested a fresh meal if the server didn't. After all, it was a catered meal. Not a full menu as most nights with all the variations that can occur. If you claim to be quality, you must demonstrate it always. This was a big night, with meal tickets probably running between 400-500 per meal, excellence should have been key.

Probably one of my favorite restaurants in Richmond. The decor, the staff, the food - they’re all fantastic and I genuinely have zero notes on how to improve the experience here!

P.S. their iconic cake is literally to die for!!

Top 5 restaurant in the west end. Ignore those fake 1 stars. You will not be disappointed

Had a wonderful meal here with another couplea few weeks ago. 2 vegetarians and 2 omnivores. We all loved our food. The ambience is so charming, the waiter was fabulous, and the lemon butter cake dessert was next level. This is a true Richmond treasure.

Great food with an excellent cocktail bar. The fried oysters were a delicious appetizer that everyone enjoyed. Waitstaff were attentive as well, I would recommend this to anyone looking for a cozy dining experience.
