Get the Benny Goodman. SO good. Perfectly poached eggs, hollandaise to die for, delicious salmon, all on a bed of sublime latkes. Oh my. Bloody Mary's are fantastic too. But the staff is the best part - Chuck and Allison are just wonderful. In a true foodie town (Richmond), every visit to this landmark eatery (Sunday mornings are our thing), is such a treat. Expect a line! It's so worth it though.
Have been in Richmond for 10 years and obviously know about Perly's but had never tried it. My husband and I are there today and will DEFINITELY be back.There was a sizable wait time at 1:45 p.m. on a Saturday, but we weren't shocked considering how highly rated it is. I kept busy shopping at Stella's next door.The hostess was friendly and efficient when seating is us. Wow!! First of all, the food and many if their names reminded me of my grandparents, growing up in an Ashkenazi family, so that was great for me! Service was quick and precise and the food was delicious and plentiful ! This was the best Ruben and chocolate books I've had in a long time! Definitely want to come back to try more things!
