Great place. Holds true to it's roots from when I was in college in the early 2000's. Only gripe is mid day lunch maybe music can be juuuuuuuust a little lower so people can have conversations.
I ordered the Sailor sandwhich and it came with chips, pickles and flavored pickles. The sandwhich contents were over cooked and dry. The bread was hard. Overall I like the hole in the wall feel, its a great neighborhood bar/restaurant but this meal was bad.
This is an RVA staple for a reason. Sandwiches are loaded and flavorful. I got the Italian sub and liked the extra details like the Italian dressing. There’s only one or two ovens so food comes out slow, but it’s a nice hangout spot.
