Really great food and awesome customer service.
Solid sandwiches. When a place survives for decades in a changing city, you know that they take their craft seriously. Terrific sandwiches on rolls that stand up to high expectations. The salads, snacks and beverages are not afterthoughts and are craveable on their own.
Really enjoyed this local deli! Food was delicious and the cook/cashier was super accommodating and friendly!
We ordered the lunch boxes (the industrial lunch) and it’s really filling. The serving size for the side that come with it is a good portion. We placed a pick up order and had to wait more than 20 minutes after the pick up time before it was ready but they were very apologetic about it. It gets really busy there but there are plenty of coffee shops next door to grab a drink while waiting for your order.
I enjoyed my sub, thanks!
Phenomenal. Fresh bread on the subs. My favorite is the industrial.
Great food at a classic deli.
Amazing sandwiches! No seed oils in any of their house-made dressings and sauces. Super friendly staff. Hard to pick from so many great options! Had a steak sandwich that was delicious, loaded with meat and cheese.
The grilled smoked turkey sandwich was great! However overall not worth the cost. We spent $38 after taxes and a $3 tip for 2 sandwiches and nothing else. Portions were small and the meatballs in the meatball sandwich was extremely bland.
A classic spot in the Richmond area

So I’ve been to this shop three times. The first two times I was desperate for a cold drink and a place to sit after exploring Richmond. The Italian sodas are delicious! Each time the food smelled mouthwatering, but I had already had lunch and didn’t want to ruin my dinner.
Today I had lunch! Finally! And it did not disappoint. Yum!!! I had the industrial (perfect Italian sub) and we also ordered the barnyard. Both of us were pleased. Pleased to report they also will serve it to you on a plate if you eat in — better for the planet.
Top in the state!! Must visit, I absolutely LOVE their sandwiches. Buy sliced meats to go as well!
Forty-two years at the same spot delivering the goods...will always go back..
They've got the flavors right! This place had that true deli flavor and you can smell it from a block away!
Update 12/7/24: Not what I remember, the prices are high and they've gotten stingy with the meat, you can have one or the other but not both! It's been awhile and I'm mostly disappointed. Probably won't go out of my way anymore.
As someone who is the granddaughter of a former NY Deli Owner, this place knocks it out of the park. Who knew, a place in Richmond?!
I was doing about a 10 hour road trip North when I asked my sister to find me a sandwich spot in Richmond I could stop at for lunch. She quickly found Coppola’s.
Upon exiting 95, Coppola’s is less than a 10 minute drive and is well worth it. It sits in a quaint, historic neighborhood called Carytown, filled with beautiful homes, shops, restaurants, and cafes. I wish I could have stayed for longer!
This was on a Sunday afternoon and I stopped in at about 1:30ish. I waited on a short line which was perfect to peruse the vast menu. I landed on the Industrial, which seemed pretty classic. It took about 7-10 minutes to come out, which I spent looking at the shop items, and memorabilia paying homage to its Brooklyn/Italian roots.
I did not choose wrong. This sandwich put a smile on my face for the remaining 6 hours of my drive. I loved the addition of hot and sweet peppers which is not something you see everyday on an Italian sub. The onions soaked up the oil and vinegar which made them impeccably tasty. And the bit of seasoning on top was what set this apart. Such a minute but thoughtful touch on a mound of deliciousness.
If you are in the area, don’t skip out on this spot. I can’t wait to go back to Richmond!
