I really wanted to love this place. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The restaurant is small but really nice. They have outdoor seating as well. BUT the first thing I noticed were the dirty dishes in the sink. The floor was sticky. Then, when I ordered my food, my sausage was as hard as a rock! My eggs did not have a taste. My pancakes were burnt……BURNT! They were not busy at all. I paid more than 20 bucks for my breakfast. Just for me to throw it in the trash.

Assuming this place is black owned because of the delicious food and bad business practices. A lot of the black owned places in Richmond have great food, but inconsistent hours, no website (or incorrect/ outdated information on the website) & so so customer service. IF you are lucky enough to be able to order from here, it’s great. However, the first time I ordered from here they forgot half of my order. The second time I tried to order, they cancelled my door dash order literally 40 minutes after I placed the order and when I tried to call, no answer. Not surprised. But still is frustrating.

The atmosphere and the waitress were nice, but the food is not worth the price. The grits were old and lumpy. The oven fried chicken was OLD. When we asked for some new chicken the owner had the audacity to come out and tell us that we ordered oven fried chicken, while rubbing his fingers together trying to explain to us that it's a different texture from fried chicken as if we didn't know that. The issue wasn't the texture the issue was that it was old and you could taste that it was old.Would I go back? Unfortunately, No!

Today 2/14. I ordered the catfish/ gumbo/w grits meal and when I opened the container. There was an eaten piece of chicken in my catfish/ gumbo platter !!! It was just the bone!!!! And you couldn’t have missed it!!! This has never happened to me and I’m very upset because I’m pregnant, so Im was extremely hungry and it’s Valentine’s Day!! I will not order from here anymore!.

Wasn’t impressed my friend took me here this morning 11/13/2022 I didn’t order anything but a biscuit n coffee the feel of the place was more like a club feeling with the choice of music her grits were cold but she still ate like half of them with the catfish she did eat most of that the biscuits were ok just needed butter my coffee was so strong it put hair on my chest very disappointing the only thing she liked was the Mamosa will not be going here again
First time ordering here. I was able to call ahead to ask questions so that was good. A little disappointed that the shrimp and grits gravy has sausage that can not be removed. I ordered the bacon egg and cheese with no bacon add tomato and lettuce with a side of potatoes. To my surprise the order was correct! That was a good start. The food was really good and well seasoned. I would definitely order again.

Everything I try is so freaking tasty. This is some bangin’ homestyle food, like my family makes, but way prettier. I keep coming back for the stuff I’ve already tried, and the many things I look forward to tasting. Biscuit is so yum.
