This was our first visit to this restaurant that exceeded our expectations. The service was excellent and the food was terrific. Alerts were appreciated as I suffer from food intolerances. The natural beauty of the building was on display through exposed brick and glass walls on the second floor. Outdoor seating was perfect as some of the heat and humidity had cleared this late summer evening. There were meat options but we passed on those to enjoy the mussels, rockfish and lobster risotto with hints of truffle and chunky mushrooms. If you're looking for seafood, visit this restaurant in the center of Cary town, you won't be disappointed.
My second time here and the staff has been welcoming each time. Some of the best, if not the best, grilled Oysters in Richmond. Prices are affordable with very good food quality to match.
We were looking for a restaurant that served fresh oysters as well as an expansive menu options and East Coast Provisions surprised. Very expansive menu. Nice outdoor space and a very hip upscale indoor seating. We were in a semi circle booth upstairs for four. Izzy was a top notch server. We had fresh and roasted oysters to start. Both were excellent. Two of the four mains were the roasted grouper sandwich - really flavorful and not over breaded or overcooked. The shoestring fries were generous in portion and crispy. Another one of us had the scallops with bok choy the other the rockfish and polenta. Both seafood entrees were done exactly right and flavorful. Will definitely return.
TeAsya was our server; she was very friendly! The manager also came around to check on us as well. The food and drinks were top-notch! My wife loved her margarita & crab cakes! The shrimp and grits were the best I've eaten in the Richmond area! The calamari is something special as well! We'll be back!
We had a memorable evening at East Coast. We elected to sit outside as the noise inside the restaurant was a bit loud for us. We had a wonderful table on the outdoor patio where we could watch the people and activity on Cary street. Our servers were great. I'd have to start with recommending some of the cocktails...our table tried two very innovative and delicious cocktails to start with. Our party of four each ordered a different dinner item and each plate received high marks. Food was hot, tasty and "hit the spot". I highly recommend East Coast for a night out.
My group of 3 had an excellent outdoor lunch: Grouper sandwich, Burger, and BLT with avocado. Each item was very tasty. The side salads were also much better than most restaurants. Service was also superb - very professional and warm. Manager stopped by twice as well. Prices were very reasonable. Can't with to go for dinner during our next visit to Carytown.
Everything was SO GOOD! Awesome, friendly, smiling staff! GREAT food. Appetizers were delish; steaks, burgers and scallops were cooked perfectly, had so much flavor!
Food was fabulous and the staff took great care of us. One point for feedback..we ordered two of their craft margaritas to start-so delicious! Decided to order a second and they were awful. Literally just sour mix in a glass of ice and not drinkable. Please be more consistent at the bar!
We were excited about this stop because their menu had incredible seafood and sushi options and many of them were gluten free. As someone with celiac disease, it was refreshing to see! We had fabulous cocktails and a delicious Pinot Grigio. The Ruby Salt Oysters, two kinds of potatoes and a Rainbow Roll didn't disappoint! Sadly, the rest of the food did. We chose the Octopus Carpaccio as an appetizer, and the presentation was beautiful, perfect paper thin slices, but so overloaded with black pepper the other flavors were lost. Our main courses were the “simply prepared” Rockfish and Mahi - which came with broccolini (and the delicious potatoes) This is where things went south. The Mahi was overcooked - tough to eat and flavorless; the Rockfish cooked to perfection, but with the flavor like dirt - apparently from a harmless algae in the fish. The broccolini was charred to a twig-like flavor, tough chewy consistency, and brownish in color. The manager was apologetic, offered us asparagus instead and discounted the bill - which we greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, the asparagus was prepared the same way as the broccolini and I offer the same review of it. When mentioning it to the server, who up to this point had been excellent, he responded with “you know the cooks do this for a living”. Service 2, Food 2, Manager 4 - at least he tried to make things right.
Rockfish was great. Great selection of dishes. Friend ordered Poke bowl. Staff came back and said could note make because of some equipment issue. Each ordered a salad. Excellent but huge. We mentioned this to a server and was told we could have ordered a side salad. This wasn't on the menu. Mentioned this to another server as an alternative for next time; this server said they don't offer a side salad. Not really establish responsibility m but table next to us had there child crawling on the floor right at our table.

We really enjoyed our time here. The bar staff was very solicitous and our food was great.
One of our top ten favorite restaurants. Excellent food and great service. Their vegan and vegetarian options are delicious which I can't say about all restaurants.
The staff, and bartender James and the chef Kevin were so kind and such a delight. Lobster risotto was Theeee best and the Brussel sprouts?? UNMATCHED!
I went there for the happy hour specials but unfortunately I am in a wheelchair and I did not know when I made my reservation that I couldn't get the specials that I sat in the regular restaurant and I wasn't going to order the same food that they were charging for Less at the bar it just seemed like paying a table tax because im in a wheelchair. I ended up with the shrimp and grits which was in quite a bit of liquid and after I ate out the shrimp in a little bits of pork belly and what I could of the Grits I was left with like a big grit soup which wasn't my favorite. As I left the manager informed me that they do happy hour pricing on the patio but that day with a heat index of 108 they did not have it open so that was not available to me. Hoping the future they'll change their policy
This place never and I repeat, never, misses the mark! On this recent visit, they made accommodations that were ‘over and above'. Justin, was incredibly accommodating and in the end really changed our whole evening. We celebrated our ninth wedding anniversary and it was great. I'd mention the food but it's consistently good..... whatever you order! The food quality, and the care with which it is prepared is obvious. Dining at East Coast provisions will make you wonder why others can't prepare a meal like they can.
