We have lived in Richmond for over 30 years and somehow we have missed this fantastic restaurant.We were on Cary Street and wanted a quick, easy dinner and someone recommended Mary Angela's.The food and service were both incredible. I can't recommend it enough. I'd give it a ten if possible.
It has been years since I've gotten pizza here but I remember I loved it. After spending two hours at HR Block we practically sprinted across the street. I got an x large pepperoni. It was huge. I usually go for a lot of toppings but figured I could add at home. Ended up adding nothing. I told my wife that I could eat this pizza with just cheese. She got a gluten free pepperoni. My go to place for NY style pizza (and I grew up in NYC). Great neighborhood atmosphere, a seasoned staff who actually talk to you and are interesting, and a cozy, non-pretentious atmosphere, just like in the old neighborhood in NYC. The pizza is just right... thin crust, lots of mozzarella, light sauce. Get the pie, not the re-heated slice.
