The food is good. The employees are always nice. Good cool aid
This place rocks! Brings back memories of awesome family cooked meals. Prices are definitely alittle heavy but worth it. Hard to find this good food anywhere.
Chicken wings were fresh and perfectly seasoned. Service was nice
Y'all the food here is so good. I'm from the line of Ms. And New Orleans any time someone says creole food I'm usually dis appointed. I was not here . Real true Creole food! Thumbs Fat Ducks!
Food is amazing and so is the sweet tea! Very down south soul food great for on the go! It's nice to have a spot like this so close.
Nice service. Food was good. Had the double burger and smothered porkchops with mac and cheese. Will have to try the ribs next time.
I order 2 of the fish and chicken platters. My only complaint was that my collards were really really salty. Other than that, the fish and chicken were spot on. Will return and I suggest that if you like soul food. Check this place out.
The food was amazing! I’m really particular about my soul food, and they nailed it!! There has to be a Grandma task force in the kitchen.. because it most CERTAINLY tastes like your Grandma’s cooking! Found this place on a google search and so glad that I did! I will most definitely be back! Very good food, quick turn around (on a to go order), very reasonably priced, generous portions, friendly staff, AMAZING KOOL AID! I got the crab cakes dinner with yams, Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. I had so much food I have leftovers for lunch today (food is so good I might have it for breakfast!) I cannot recommend this place enough! If you are in RVA and looking for soul food.. this is your spot!
They have amazing food that will keep you coming and running back for more.
Tried a few different soul food places in richmond and this is by far the best! Got the fish and chicken, mashed potatoes and yams. Everything was amazing.

Absolutely the best soul food I've had since going to Southern Kitchen a month. I cant even compare the 2 but if you need a guide to explain just how delicious this place food is... Thats the gauge right there.
Ate there today. Oh Lord food was Great. Had 2pc. fish, potato salad, buttered toast and macaroni and cheese. Sampled the Seafood salad(words can't describe). Tasted friends smothered pork chops(literally melted in your mouth. Apple cobbler(oh my). Family run and very friendly and nice people. Will surely go back.
I'm a HUGGGEEE soul food fan and nowadays it is so hard to find GOOD soul food places and when you do their yams and Mac are not up to par. Well my mother took me here today for the first time and I think I've found my new soul food place. I got the chicken and shrimp dinner with Mac and yams with apple cobbler. The Mac n cheese was cheesey, baked, and delicious. The yams were soft and sweet and tasted like fresh yams none of that canned stuff. The chicken could have been seasoned a little more but then again I like heavy seasoning and the shrimp was good and crispy. Lastly the apple cobbler was soft, fluffy, sweet, and delicious. I will highly recommend this place.
The food is amazing, and the owner and staff are even better, which is saying a lot! This is a great little family run place, with home cooked meals. I definitely recommend the Fat Duck Ultimate Seafood Platter, you will not be disappointed - the Crab Cakes are Amazing! More than worth the 30 minute drive from Short Pump - I will absolutely be back next time I am in town.
Staff was friendly owner even helped take my food to the car in rain.... had the pork chop dinner with mac & cheese and greens to die for..... all and all I'll continue to support this black owned business keep cranking out good foo fat ducks
