I’m back home visiting after moving away 10 years ago & Golden Skillet is one of those places I go every time I visit. They are not what I remember & EXTREMELY MID SERVICE !!I ordered for pickup thru Grubhub & the girl at the counter was on her earpiece while helping me. I didn’t check my order like I should have & headed home to eat only to realize there was just chicken in the box when I ordered a meal. The meal was supposed to have 2 sides & a biscuit. They were out of collards so I got yams. I made it all the way back home & realized I was supposed to get a roll with my “meal” too. What a shame how downhill this place has gone. I won’t be reminiscing over them when I go back home to FL ✌️

The fact that a black man can't cook a chicken sandwich is insane. Everyone knows that the big skillet is known for if breader, but if you are dumb enough to rap it in aluminum foil it will make it soggy. My fries were also over cooked. I ended up paying $13 for a large drink. Avoid this location at all costs.

The mild chicken has the perfect crunch, texture and taste, so does the spicy chicken and others. The service here is amazing-- there's one lady who works here who has red hair and she is amazing. The atmosphere is like any mainstream restaurant-- upbeat and makes you feel good. I would definitely recommend the one on 7108 Hull Street. That's where the red haired lady is.

Asked to use the restroom was told someone locked it from the inside so I went to use the other one and that was locked. Then a worker in the back said that they had water all over the floor. Two different stories Couldn't tell if the cashier was talking to me because she was on her cell phone and then $1.99 for a can soda oh my ???

I don't believe the gizzards were actually gizzards. I think they were something else. They're very hard and taste rather old. I will not be back ever again.

Always nice to my employee and me. The only place I know of that serve really good livers and gizzards, too. I haven't visited in a while since we moved the shop to Hopewell, but I will make a special trip again soon!

I will never come here again. Due to the fact the owner’s children were just obnoxious, running around and screaming almost bursting my eardrums! And with no form of discipline & self control. I had to leave out of there and wait in my car because I couldn’t handle all of that. And one of the workers called themselves trying to flirt with me which was annoying smh All I wanted to do was to just order my food and go because at that point, my patience was running so thin I just wanted to go off on everybody up in there! And the food was nasty too, just disgusting. If the Golden Skillet on Jahnke Rd. were opened today I would’ve went there
I visited this place on Sunday the 29th of May. I was very excited because we loves some Golden Skillet; but unfortunately this visit lead me to the ER with gastroenteritis!. I had the half/half gizzard & livers along with 1chicken wing. I was so sick and in disbelief because I like Golden Skillet. I went thru alot of pain and I will not be returning ever. So with that said Golden Skillet please be safer when handling food and wash hands always!! You all have lost a good customer!

Great fried food little affair...chicken, fish, shrimp even oysters! Ordered 2 piece white breast meal (roll with 2 small sides), shrimp meal (roll with 2 small sides) as well as 12 piece chicken nuggets even if it wasn't on any menu. Taste was excellent even though I thought the shrimp was going to include hush puppies (it didn't) and they got the side wrong for my wife's 2 piece chicken breast meal (Mac and cheese instead of collard greens). Well at least the Mac and cheese was good! Tempted to give 3 stars due to mistakes...but good price and great taste!

I ordered chicken livers. I asked that they would not be fried hard. They were hard and they had gizzards and remnants from fried chicken. I gave them 1. Star because the string Beans were ok. I won't be going in there again.
