10/10 recommend for weddings and event catering! Our wedding planning company, Faded Poppy, worked with Kaylyn & Morgan for a large outdoor wedding. Extreme heat, last minute changes and surprise additions can make even the most trained professionals slip but GG made it look like a walk in the park. Delicious food, stellar service, professionalism on point and an exceptional eye for details. GG was absolutely our MVP!!

When the day came, all I had to do was point out where I wanted the food to go. Catherine and Lynn were awesome! Chef Oscar prepped delicious food, and the ladies did the rest.
I was so comfortable with them here. They set up, served if they heard someone want something, and then packed up.

Everyone was so professional and kind and just super helpful. I have been so pleased from start to finish with the entire team. Seriously, people kept asking if I needed any help or if I was worn out from planning and i just kept saying NO! These folks have literally handled everything! It was a DREAM working with Michelle and her team. The food was OBVIOUSLY amazing and the service was above par. I’ve taken sometime to write this review as our wedding was in December 2021, but I thought it was important.Firstly, the staff was fantastic throughout our whole experience (five star service to the bar and wait staff at our wedding). The private tasting was so delicious that when I was full and said so, the event coordinator told me it’s just a tasting and I didn’t have to eat it all. LOL.The only thing we didn’t like was the fake grilled favor on the steak, but she wrote the change down.We had local charcuterie for cocktail hour. A fully opened bar for both cocktail hour and the wedding. We got steak, Tuscan chicken(both in sauces), SMASHED garlic potatoes, two veggies and Mac and cheese.We also chose an oyster mushroom soup(our very favorite at the tasting).. Chicken nuggets and sides for the few kids that came. We had guests come from all over the country and bragged to them about how delicious our tasting was. We thought-this isn’t just wedding food, it’s wonderful and we can’t wait for our guest to try it.On the wedding day the food was sadly nothing like the tasting. Everything was bland, the smashed/mashed potatoes were sliced and dry and everythingggg was cold. Even our FAVORITE, the soup was off. My husband and I looked at each other and both said, “Wow, what a let down.” We had several people come up to us and tell us it was cold. One person joked, saying “I thought y’all said this was so good.” One parent said their kid wouldn’t eat because their food was too cold. I didn’t say anything to the staff that night because it was my wedding day and I didn’t want to have an upsetting conversation, but it was embarrassing and hurtful. I still think about it now in 2023 from time to time.

She was flexible and found ways to make our nontraditional requests possible. As for the day of the wedding, the staff were literally the sweetest. I remember during cocktail hour when I was getting so many pictures taken, one of the staff members went out of her way to make sure I had hors d’oeuvres to eat and a drink in my hand. As the bride and groom it’s easy to forget to eat, but we felt taken care of by them. They nailed the set up for dinner and were quick to accommodate the inclement weather. The cherry on top, our guests were raving about how good the food was! We really felt like Groovin had our back and would highly recommend them!

Kaylyn was such a pleasure to partner with and provided the guidance I needed to ensure I made the right selections, ordered the correct quantity and provided thoughtful suggestions I hadn't thought of to elevate my event.The three ladies that came to set up this massive event were extremely polite, hard working, fast and had it down to a science. I just stayed out of the way while they worked their magic. Lastly, the food was perfection. We had a Thanksgiving themed lunch and every dish from the turkey/ham to the vegetarian/vegan entrees to the gluten free options to the decadent desserts were delicious. Planning a wedding is a tedious and overwhelming task that I thought I was ready for but I quickly realized that I had no idea what I was walking into. The most daunting aspect quite possibly has to be picking a caterer. There only seems to be a million of them and there’s so many options and it’s so dang expensive. My fiancé and I decided early in the planning process that if something felt right, we weren’t going to over think it or keep looking for other options, we were just going to go with what made us comfortable. God smiled down on us and I began corresponding with Kaylyn at Groovin’ Gourmet. From our first phone call, she made me feel comfortable and at ease. I immediately felt like I was in a seasoned professionals hands. I trusted her before I even chose Groovin. Kaylyn is 90% of why I chose to go with this company. And then we got to do our tasting and we were even more impressed! From the beginning of the process all the way thru and on to wedding day and then after, we were just continually pleased and pleasantly surprised. Surely everything can’t go 100% right but it absolutely did. And if it didn’t, we had no idea! We have received nothing compliments from all of our friends on how amazing their food was (we served a plated dinner with filet, crab cakes or chicken as the options). We had a few gluten free meals and those folks have all come to us and told us how delicious their meals were and how professionally Groovin handled their special meals. If you are considering Groovin Gourmet, stop looking, stop considering other places, just sign the contract now and pray that you get to work with Kaylyn. However, as well oiled of a machine as this company is, I’m sure everyone there is just as wonderful. If you’re in the beginning of the planning process, I promise you won’t be disappointed with this company! I wouldn’t change anything.
