Hello, Mr. Shin, I just read the article about you and your restaurant in today's RTD. I feel so wrong to be a white American citizen. I never visited your restaurant because I do not go into downtown Richmond anymore, it is too challenging for an older, mobility impaired person. I am aware of your native country through a life of appreciating soul food and culture from all nations. Please accept my apology for the stupidity of my ilk. I feel I do not want to be a person anymore, maybe a dog. I wish you peace. [email protected]

This is not kimbab.. this is a sushi roll with premade daikon, carrots, and spinach. The more annoying thing is they have a proper picture of kimbab on the menu but clearly they have no idea what it is. Keep your $4 and I hope a korean is not running this place because it would be shameful to not know your basic dish.

Was it bit underwhelmed with my meal. I got the lunch special and side order of kimbap. This is by no means authentic Korean food. My lunch special was a little joke. The japchae was heavy in sesame oil flavor and very tiny in portion. The only thing I enjoyed in the lunch special was the kimchi. My kimbap was also...underwhelming. Tiny sushi-like rolls with heavy vinegar flavor. I also waited around 30 minutes after I ordered.

Donkatsu comes with soy sauce, not actual donkatsu sauce. And the kimbap is sad :( The marinated chicken was pretty good.

Food was ok. The pancakes are amazing. Everything else is... meh.

Small restaurant with few tables due to COVID. Ordered the bulgogi with spiced sprouts and spiced cucumbers and was happily surprised with the amount of beef that was served for an $11 plate. An exceptional value for the price. Swing by if you have a chance.

DO NOT IGNORE THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS!!!Before visiting a new restaurant I typically read the reviews. Since the negative reviews were awhile ago my daughter and I decided to eat here. My daughter didn’t have an issue with her food -she ordered Ramen and said it was not the best but okay. I, on the other hand, ordered the chicken bulgogi and it was not palatable. So after a few delivery guys left I approached the counter and asked the young lady who took my order if I could get something different because my meal did not taste right she said let me let you talk to the chef. The chef asked what was wrong and I told him the bulgogi did not taste right. He continuously asked what was wrong with the taste and I told him I couldn’t explain what was wrong with flavor but I didn’t like it. He became condescending making statements like you do know every Korean restaurant food is not going to taste the same….he then proceeded to say “it cost me money to make this food” and I replied “it cost me money to eat this food.” At this point it was easy for me to see he was not trying to ensure that I had a positive experience so I threw the food away. Not sure, if the chef is also the owner but a word to the wise be careful how you interact with people because you never know who someone is and who they know ? I am glad to have a local food critic in my circle that specializes in local eats.

The food is absolutely AMAZING!!! I’ll definitely be back to try other things on the menu.

I had the sweet and spicy tofu (sauce on the side) with the spinach and white radish. It was delicious, the service was equally as excellent.

Can't really rate this place. Take out only. Was anxiously awaiting a chance to get Korean food. Menu looks great. I'll have to check it out later.

I had Korean food craving and this popped up close to my hotel. I went with a friend after our long walk in the area. Place was clean and had some chairs for you to wait for your order. There's no dine in available and we were gonna have them to go any way so it worked out. Girl at the front desk was nice and patient while were deciding what we were getting. We ended up getting vegetable bibimbop and my friend ordered milk bubble tea. She liked the drink and enjoyed bibimbop. I liked it as well but I think they could've used more seasoning on their gochujang sauce to add flavors and depth to the dish. Ingredients were fresh and had a good mix of everything.

We would have given 3 stars but while we waited an extra 15 minutes for our takeout we saw a roach crawling across the floor. We would have left them but we had already paid. First the pickup order that was supposed to be ready in 25 minutes took more than 40 minutes. The portions were small and the food was just average. The biggest issue was watching a roach crawl around our feet while we waited for our food. Also they had most of the restaurants blocked off making the 5 or 6 people waiting for take out to be packed in a small area. So much for covid distancing.

I lived in Busan, ROK and this is the only place I can get my SoonDooBu fix this side of the Pacific. Can also recommend Dakboki. I have only ordered via DoorDash, so can’t speak for atmosphere or service. MUST TRY!
