Amazing. Both food and service
We've dined here several times and enjoyed the food, service and the overall ambience. Ordered take out and specifically mentioned mild spice level, but the food was very very spicy and didn't taste good. Called the restaurant and they were apologetic but didn't really address the concern.Won't be ordering again given lack of consistency in taste of food and lack of accountability to address the issue.

Complete disconnect between the wait staff and the kitchen. Examples - Was told a dish didn't have dairy and it ended up containing it. Was told a dish wasn't spicy and it ended up being extremely spicy. This was on two separate occasions with two different waiters. One plus is they do have some creative cocktails.

Good service amd atmosphere. Food is good too but is more of fancy Americanized Indian. A bit on the pricey side $$$ Good for a date but dont take an Indian girl here 😂

One of the best meals we've had in such a long time. Just spectacular food...
Everything from the service, to the decor, to the artistic, flavor-inspired dishes was simply top notch. Richmond just doesn't have many gems like this that can blow my mind with every bite and I'm honestly baffled that the place isn't packed from 5 to 10 every day of the week.
We made a reservation for our wedding anniversary on a Wednesday evening which was noted on the res, and warmly welcomed by the manager and our server, who showed us to a private table tucked away by the windows, with a happy anniversary sign awaiting.
As adventurous diners, which you admittedly will have to be to enjoy the experience here, we were craving spice and complexity, and every single dish delivered. Kismet perfectly fit the bill for the dinner experience I was looking for.
We ordered three appetizers, garlic naan, and two main entrees. The food was so flavorful we didn't notice how incredibly full we were getting. It was hard to leave a morsel on the plate, which we were regrettably finally forced to do with the last of our entrees.
Our line up:
Bottle of Gruner Veltliner--a sturdy, dry white that stood up to the spicy food. Not too often a white can leave you with a lasting finish, but this one did and was both pleasing and affordable.
Calcutta Jhaal Muri (the texture is phenomenal)
Sweet Potato Sliders (the bread to die for, everything was so unexpected about this dish)
Chicken Apollo (mouth ablaze in the best of ways)
Butter Chicken (an elevated classic)
Black Pepper Paneer (if I had to choose my least favorite, I suppose it was this one, but each bite grew on me more than the last, and I finished every morsel).
Our server brought us a palate cleanser in between courses--an icy rose infusion that set a whole new wave of neurons firing.
We declined dessert, naturally, but even so, our server brought us an exotic ice cream, also rose-infused, which we simply couldn't pass up. So incredibly interesting and we ended up finishing that too.
It's a good thing our meal was at 6 so we had time to digest before going to sleep, but we were so stuffed, the remainder of the evening was a bit uncomfortable. This is hardly a detraction, but just a recommendation: eat early, pace yourself, and get the to-go box if necessary.
We will certainly be back again and again. Compliments to the chef and the management. You're doing everything right.

We were very impressed with the service, food and plating presentation. We had a full dinner on a Saturday night. Servers replaced our plates between appetizers and entrees, served frozen rose water as a palate cleanser. The servers and the manager were very attentive making us feel even more special. Our meals were well proportionated, the naan was exceptional , my favorite was the one that had the original flavor and shaped like a flower you pull apart (laccha parantha). I enjoyed my roasted eggplant dish but our group favorite was the chickpea dumplings (zucchini kofta) and our favorite drink was the Sirens Call.

The food is great, my only complaint is the amount of meat they used was so little! I ordered a biryani and it only had 3 little pieces of chicken in it.

Our experience began with abundant and convenient parking, setting a positive tone. The room decor was truly exquisite, a testament to thoughtful design. As for the dining, much of the food was simply sublime, its aroma captivating and adding another dimension to our enjoyment with its spice-infused flavors.
However, our positive impressions were tempered by some unexpected and perplexing charges on our bill, and a notable dining disappointment:
•The Richmond tax appeared elevated at an eyebrow-raising 10%.
•We were also charged for soda refills, extra spice, and additional rice. Considering our substantial order—starters, four main courses, three naans, and a paratha for just two adults and two children—these cumulative charges felt unjustified and excessive.
•A particular disappointment was the lamb chops, priced at $38 for three. Despite requesting medium, they arrived overdone and, surprisingly, had an underwhelming taste that paled in comparison to the vibrant, spice-infused flavors of the rest of our meal.

This restaurant is amazing- the food is very fresh and spectacular, the waiters let you take your time while deciding what you want to eat and they make sure you know what’s in the food, and there are nice vegetarian and vegan options for some people that light have some dietary restrictions.
