Where to start, where to start?! Coming from a French culinary background, I know what I am talking about when it comes to food. After studying under Rifolfo Zimunyuan in Paris; I ended up moving to Richmond, VA to pursue a career in food trucks. My first truck was called "The Lonely Pickle" and our main dish was a fried pickle taco. Everyday during lunch I would sneak over to the Kitchen 64 and get the vegetarian nachos. Girl; let me tell you: these are absolutely breathtaking. The perfect melt of the cheese complimenting the bean to salsa ration is something; to this day, I have yet to master. Sometimes I wake up in a sweat to this day dreaming of them: My usual server, Maggie, was just an absolute stellar professional and human being. One time, while counseling me on the death of my hermit crab, I saw her carry 8 drinks with no tray. She had donated the tray to a local ultimate frisbee team because their school cut their funding and they couldn't afford frisbees. A local hero, a wonderful waitress, and definitely one of my top 8 friends on MySpace to this day (although I am banned for other reasons). If you are ever crossing through VA, drop everything you have planned and go get yourself Chip salad (that's what the boys and I call nachos lawl). You will have a life changing experience and maybe even a hug from sketchy frank out back. XOXO, Dante

Nothing special. Had Scott's addition. Which is basically a French dip. The French fries were pretty good and the house made ranch was spectacular. But the sandwich was just meh.

I've just experienced Kitchen 64 for the first time with a couple of friends. This place has kind of an old school diner feel. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. They found the balance between meeting our needs, and leaving us be to enjoy our conversation. The food arrived quickly and accurately. Everything we ate was fantastic. We spent the better part of 3 hours there grazing on our food while catching up on each others lives. They kept our drinks full and never made us feel like we we needed to wrap things up to free up the table. While we were there I heard others talking about the Kitchen 64 brunch being even better than dinner. I will most certainly give that go. I'll leave you with this...if you're looking for a place to eat in the city that makes you forget the hustle and bustle with great food and cozy atmosphere, do yourself a favor and eat at Kitchen 64.

I go to brunch here a few times a year it seems, and it's always a great time. The host staff, servers, cooks- everyone is professional and friendly. Today six of us went and my omelet was awesome, the coffee flavorful and not too hot, and we all made yummy noises while eating. Lol. Oh, and the bathrooms are always clean. :)

This place is located in a discreet location on the Boulevard. I went for Sunday brunch because they had 12 dollar mimosa pitchers but the surf and turf was the reason I would go back again! Best home fries I've had from any restaurant and most relatives lol. My only complaint is that I couldn't change the poach egg to fried because it came with the special. Unlike most restaurants my party was able to share the pitcher of mimosa and they automatically split the cost between us!!! Nice quiet place to enjoy great food and converse with family/friends!

Breakfast The atmosphere is great, hostess are great. Know for breakfast My egg and sausage with cheese on wheat was ok, but was warm/cold.. my grits were warm and not at all what I expected... My fiancé omelette she got was warm/ cold It was haphazardly put together part of her omelette was rubber like and she just couldn't eat it To those who may read this Sorry but this is my honest review of our breakfast

Went with my coworkers for lunch today and everything we had was amazing. The crab cake sandwich was a thick patty of lump crab meat, burgers were cooked to perfection, and fries were super crispy. Our service was great, the atmosphere was cute, and music was fun. It was pretty busy but they didn't miss a beat. I will definitely be back.

I always enjoy kitchen 64. Never had a bad experience here. Great service, and delicious food. Parking lot seems a bit tight, but over all good place to eat. The burger was big and juicy. Just like I like it. Everyone doesn't have good french fries, but theirs was right on point. The cheese Quesadillas was one of the best I've had. Thumbs up on this spot. I'll definitely hit them again.

Ohhh, this is our "go to" place when we are on our way to DC from Hampton Roads. All the food is bang in' delish. Drinks are good too. Not too far from our daughter so she can meet us and we love all the variety of the dishes.

I just relocated to the area and visited this restaurant for lunch. I was with a group of 4. We were seated right away and the waitress came right over to take our drink orders. The waitress came back at a reasonable time with the drinks and she took our order right away. She suggested some great sandwiches and I decided to order the Scotts Addition sandwich. The sandwich was a steak and cheese sandwich that came w au jus dip. It also came with a horseradish dip. I was able to use both and I enjoyed both sauces. On the side, I picked sweet potato fries. I asked for a side of honey to dip my fries in. I also used siracha sauce to dip my fries which was a good option as well. Next time I will try and mix honey and siracha together as a dip. Next time, I would definitely go back and try the happy hour drink menu that seemed appealing.

Pretty standard diner with diner food. Nothing extraordinary about food or location. Got the cheeseburger with fries and it tasted pretty basic. Probably won't go back.

Went with my wife to meet a friend at this spot. It was slam gull at lunch time on a Tuesday. Quickly seated even though we said we were waiting for someone. Wait staff were pleasant and informative. I had the oyster platter with coleslaw and fries, and the wife opted for the meatloaf special with mashed potatoes and gravy plus green beans. Both meals came out fairly quick and and everything was very good. Had to ask for lettuce to be removed due to current health advisories. Waitress checked on us and suggested desserts. No room left. Very decent lunc

Just...ok for dinner. The service is the best part. We had a large party and the server handled with expediency, especially great since we were starving! The food is pretty standard diner food. I got some cajun soup which had nice heat to it but not much else. Got a burger without a bun with a cesar salad and it wasn't much to write home about.

The age the building somewhat makes it look a little dirty and worn down but it still seems clean. The food is great but realize that you will get too much food for some and need to either share or take a box home with you. If you are on a healthy kick, this place may not be for you. Even the salads are huge and will go past your calorie or points for the day. If you want good tasting food, big sandwiches, etc....then this place is for you.

I stumbled upon Kitchen 64 our of necessity. I was in the area and had to walk to get something to eat and this was the only place around. I was greeted by one of the most attractive waitresses that I've seen in Richmond. We were promptly seated and given menus. There are a lot of salads and sandwiches on the menu. I had the bacon cheeseburger and my wife had the fried chicken salad. My wife also had one of the drink special Mojitos. The burger was good and my wife semi enjoyed her salad but I will have to say that the star of the meal was the Mojito made by our waitress. OMG, I'm not even a rum guy but I'd go back just for the drink. $6 for a beautifully made drink!! I can see this place being a jumping hang-out even though it wasn't busy during our meal.
