I do miss the mac salad but still a very solid place to grab a bite to eat the spicy garlic chicken, coconut rice, and coleslaw were amazing!!

If you like flavor… just turn back around. I recently went with my boyfriend to try this place and the food was just bad. No flavor, the crispy chicken tasted like of a cut up version of school lunch chicken patties, and the sauces really were not good. I don’t even understand how you can get sauce wrong. Whoever likes this place honestly have taste buds of a 4 year old. I honestly felt like i wasted my money.

Just not what it used to be. I haven't eaten here since 2015 and it was delicious. Was hoping for that same experience, but it just wasn't that good.

Some of the order was left off, everything was swimming in sauce, the slaw really didn’t have a flavor, the sauce was way too sweet.Probably will not order again.

Skip the food, it’s less than mid…funnel cake is alright. Walked in the hostess didn’t speak. I might come back for the funnel cake…maybe. Thanks for being vegan option, I suppose.

Price is good. Food is light and fresh. Chicken is a bit bland. But the biggest take away is that it's Halal... Meaning it's cleaner than non halal. I wasn't shocked with happiness from my meal but I was impressed. Spot is small and location is great. Service was great also. Emptied my my box was back on the block. Word life B!

Was in the VCU area, so why not venture back to the old Kokonut Grill I used to eat at while on campus. Some things have changed, and it's just become an average food spot now.The Food: I went with the "Box" option for my visit. 1 protein, 1 sauce and 3 sides. I went with the Spicy Garlic Chicken, White Rice, Spicy Fries and Sesame Noodles (Chilled). The chicken wasn't that flavorful or tender when I was eating it. The spicy garlic flavor wasn't fully there, so it was almost plain. The fries had some spice seasoning topped on it, which was good, but nothing noteworthy. The chilled sesame noodles were good though, nice subtle sesame flavor that was chilled hit nicely. Overall, a just an average cooked meal. I also remember them serving mac salad, that was a fan favorite amongst myself and a few friends, kind of sad its gone. The Service: Service was good! Staff here are friendly and welcoming. And, my order came out in a timely manner. The Atmosphere: Not a lot of seating inside. It's mostly a takeout kind of food spot. But still has the nice decor, paired with the nice college/RVA feel.Overall, a 3/5. Just an average food spot now. Maybe its nostalgia trying to make me like this place, but the quality from what I've seen has gone down. I probably won't be returning here unfortunately

This place is awesome- definitely casual cute. Lots of options- gluten free, dairy free, vegan, vegetarian… I got the crispy chicken bowl and it was AWESOME. Highly recommend if you’re in RVA!

I want to love this place but it’s so frustrating every time I try to go here because it seems like at one point they were called spice up teriyaki but they didn’t completely change the name on food delivery apps or google…when I asked him about it one time in the store, they were kind of rude about it..Location doesn’t help either. Is it really so hard though to just simply change the name everywhere to what your current name is?

Food was okay but no Wi-Fi no restroom and cameras everywhere didn't feel very welcoming
