Ordered gorditas and omg they were the best I’ve ever had. They fry the tortillas so they’re crispy and the carne and chicken were so good. They came out HOT.

All you could wish for authentic Mexican

Went there on a Monday evening about 6 o'clock and ordered Burritos and a couple of sides. The staff was amazingly friendly and helpful. The food was good except that there were no refried beans in my burrito. My reasoning for the overall 3 star review is that it took almost 50 minutes to fulfill my order with 1 table occupied in the dining area and a couple of delivery orders that went out while I looked around the very cool market. I will order ahead next time if I choose to eat here again.

Went here for the first time today and my husband and I both got the combo meals - we tried 6 types of proteins, 5 salsas, and tried a tostada, Mexican taco, American taco, enchilada, mini burrito, and pupusa. EXCELLENT! Best Mexican food we’ve had in the RVA area. Will be back! Super kind staff. The store has awesome things, too. They have house made pork rinds and fried pork belly - like, what?!

“The pastor at La Milpa Mexican Restaurant on Hull Street was one of the most disappointing meals I’ve ever had. The meat tasted old, overly greasy, and completely lacked authentic flavor. Instead of fresh, seasoned pastor, it felt like reheated leftovers sitting under heat lamps for hours. The tortillas were soggy, the onions looked dry, and the pineapple tasted stale. On top of that, the restaurant floor felt sticky and dirty, making the entire experience uncomfortable. I honestly left regretting spending my money there. If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food in Richmond, this was nowhere near it.”
