This was my first experience and it made me cry the green beans tasted just like my late grandfather’s really really really good I also hade the smothered pork chops and Mac and cheese both were excellent and I ordered the grilled trout with mashed potatoes and greens for my daughter which she also said was excellent and last the bread pudding is off the chain very good plenty of raisins just the way I like
MaMa J's is and always will be a place to get a Great home-cooked meal. Service was on point! For on point! Atmosphere is what you expect when it seems like you are in a family gathering.
Genuinely one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. We were in Richmond for one night, and went here for the traditional fare. The staff were extremely friendly and personable, went above and beyond to give us samples of all the sides! Everything we tried, all the sides, catfish, chicken, was to die for. Drinks were also very strong! Great place, if I’m ever in VA again, I’ll stop by.
