Not sure what to say really. Maybe it is sentimentality, but I just really love this place. I've never had a bad experience or event. Food always rocks. There will be a wait, just chill out, don't be weird.

This place has been closed during the pandemic but I am eager for them to open back up as I live close by and frequent it regularly. It appears they have been doing some interior work, which was much needed as it felt dark and dingy before. The food here is 5/5, I have never had a bad meal and am now stuck on the eggplant parmesan. The service is not the best, which I understand is there schtick, but to me is just an excuse for the staff to not have to do their jobs better. I only tolerate it because the food is so delicious.

First the only negative; the wait for a table.. Think Yogi Berra; "Nobody goes there anymore, it's too crowded." Once you are seated you will experience some of the best food in Richmod. Creative and well prepared recipes. inventive combinartions of meats, seafood veggies and salads. Classic Italian dishes are a specialty. Desserts to share a must do to end a delicious dinner. Amazing what they do with pastas. You will return and stand in line again.

I guess the bandwagon forgot to stop at my house before it picked everyone else up, but sadly I wasn't really a fan of this place. I think it's absolutely ridiculous that they don't take reservations and don't offer adequate space to comfortably wait. I went there on a night that was about 30°. So waiting outside was not an option. With that said, there were many people crowded inside at the entrance. It was so bad that there wasn't even enough room for the door to open. I also felt bad for the people that were seated at the tables near the entrance because they had to deal with people hovering over their table. Luckily for me, I was able to secure a seat at the bar after dancing around for about 10 min. Shortly after that, our table was ready. So we moved over to it and finally got comfortable. Once seated our server introduced himself and told us the menu was on the chalkboard behind the bar. Smh. Great, the chalkboard that I couldn't see because many people were standing infront of it as they were waiting for their table. Finally, after x amount of minutes, I was able to figure out what the majority of the chalkboard said. Soon afterwards, our server took our orders and it wasn't long until the food came out. I thought the food was ok. But definitely not worth all that I just went through. But even with that said, there were a couple of other things that I want to try. So maybe I'll go back to try them. If I do, I'll update this review.

Great Richmond staple. Nice staff and great wait staff. Super loud, and super busy place! Very dated and old, but that's what adds to it's charm. The food is traditional Italian / American and the portion sizes are respectable. Not the best place for a first date, only because how loud it can be when they get busy.

My family went here for dinner to celebrate a birthday. With a reservation we were seated within 5 minutes. The food was fantastic. It was the best Italian food I have ever eaten. With drinks, appetizers, meals, and dessert, the cost was under $250 which was very reasonable. The service was good, a little slow, but they were very busy. We will definitely be back. The tiramesu was so delicious.

If you want genuine Italian food , try Mamma Zu’s. There is plenty of garlic , so make sure you like garlic. Best eggplant Parmesan ever. Pastas are amazing.

This Italian restaurant was a delicious hole in the wall. I loved the family style service. I highly recommend the pasta, and the squid salad. I don’t even like tiramisu and it was good. We loved these two bottles of red wine.
