For reference, I came to this place on a Wednesday afternoon at 4:30pm with a few of my coworkers. This is a very nice spot to come after work, I very much enjoyed my experience. The first thing that you notice when you walk in is the decor and atmosphere. It has this old timey ranch feel to it, and whiskey literally stacked to the ceiling! That was really cool to see, and gave a great first impression. There is one guy that was working that day, he ran the whole place by himself outside of the back kitchen. He was very knowledgeable on all the different spirits, the history, and was really awesome with giving suggestions. My only criticisms that he is the only one running the front of house, which meant that ask more people showed up, we definitely did not get checked on as often. I'm not going to blame him for this, but I do think more staff on the front of the house would have helped. The food was also very solid. I got the steak with potatoes and brussel sprouts. The steak was cooked very well, had a great seer and seasoning to it. The potatoes were also cooked well, the seasoning was very powerful (I think it had rosemary or something like that), maybe even a little too pungent. I had to dial it down with some ketchup, but it was still good. The brussel sprouts were also pretty good, I'm not the biggest fan of them, but my colleague said they were some of the best they ever had.Overall, definitely like this place, love the whiskey collection, will definitely have to be back in the near future.

First time visiting Big Whiskey. So I didn't get the servers' or owners' names. But we sat at the bar, and our server was knowledgeable about their drink offerings . The food was excellent, and you could smell and taste the smokey flavor in the meats, which is rare these days. I will definitely return.

The owner greeted me and also made me a really good old fashioned. I ordered a ribeye which I was not expecting to be so huge, and it came out perfectly medium rare just the way I asked. I loved the sweet potato fries, but will definitely be back to try more of the menu. Thanks for the great service!

This place is unbelievable. If you’re a whiskey connoisseur, whiskey lover, or are interested in whiskey, this is THE ONLY PLACE IN VIRGINIA TO GO.The atmosphere is fantastic, the food is top-notch, and the whiskey selection is SECOND TO NONE. Hands down the best whiskey selection I’ve found on the East Coast. The service is fantastic, and I’m counting the minutes until I can go back.

We sat down the guy was rude and didn't tell us anything. Then when we decided to go elsewhere he said something under his breath. Very unprofessional.

Absolutely worst service I have experienced in a very long time. There was only 15 people in the place when we arrived. We were able to order some drinks. A $20 old fashion that you can only order with house K.O. Bourbon. What kind of whiskey bar doesn’t allow you to order a different type of bourbon? Unfortunately that was not the bad part. The waiter, Trevor was rude, slow, and aggressive. He couldn’t take more than one drink order at a time. It took over 75 minutes to get an appetizer, and the excuse was only one chef in the kitchen. After waiting all that time he finally decided he could take our meal orders. I explained that he should have taken our order earlier if the kitchen was going to be so slow. He stated he couldn’t beat the chef into submission. And I replied that had nothing to do with taking our order 75 minutes after we sat down. He then put his hands up and said let me stop you. That ended our patience and we asked for the check and left. The bill was over $106 for the one appetizer we got (we ordered two), 3 old fashions, one drink and a beer. The appetizer was very tasty and I will share that the food has high reviews from family that have eaten there in the past. I highly recommend management review their process and staffing. There should not be a single chef and if so there should be a warning when people sit. Trevor should be required to take some customer service classes and learn how to listen and not interrupt. I can say I rarely write reviews but this time I couldn’t help myself. Avoid this location at all costs!

We had a fabulous, creative meal last night, along with oh-so-wonderful whiskey. Love this place, and the owner goes out of his way to make your experience a great one.

I lived this place. The barbecue was excellent and they really know their bourbon. They have a huge selection. And prices are reasonable. I tried 3 bourbons that I’ve never been able to find: Weller Antique 107, Old Forester Single Barrel Barrel Strength, and John J Bowman Single Barrel. If you’re getting discouraged hunting bourbon, go here and you can actually taste what you’ve been missing and eat some good food while you’re at it.
