My husband and I stopped in on our way to a jazz show. We didn't know what to expect but we're pleasantly surprised. The owner (Mac) was tending bar and also our waiter. He had good stories to tell, made food recommendations, gave some history of the restaurant, and was overall very friendly. The food was great. The restrooms were large and clean. We definitely had a great time and will go back on our next jazz show trip.
I regret putting off trying this spot for so long! The food is fantastic with the fat on the steaks perfectly rendered, and the owner is amazing. We went there and I was blown away by the whiskey selection. The custom barrel picks are spectacular and Mr. McCormack had a lot of very interesting knowledge to share about the selection process. This will definitely be somewhere we no longer hesitate to stop in to grab a bite.
This place is a true gem. Mac is extremely knowledgeable and friendly and the restaurant is a true mecca for whisky lovers. Insane amount of options...perhaps one the biggest in the US?
The food is great also...Richmond has a real winner with this grill/pub in the area.
