Not sure what the other reviewers had issue with but I had a decent meal here. The food was decent and I had a couple fun rolls, service was great, obviously a prime location. Worth a revisit for sure, nothing turned me off from coming back.

Great sushi! Fresh tasting and stimulating flavors! The plating presentation was very good as well. The eatery is a very charming place on West Cary Street. I loved the flying dragon artwork too!

Love visiting this place and happy it’s close! Great sake and handmade rolls! Always quiet and love that it’s tucked at the end of Carytown. We appreciate all you do when we visit, and always make the effort to stop by for a quick bite if we are in the area!

The rolls they have available are interesting, but the sushi itself lacks any sort of punch and the flavors are underwhelming. By no means bad sushi, but also does not elevate to the level of some other sushi restaurants in the city. If someone put this in front of me, I would absolutely eat it, but I don't see myself going out of my way to have another meal here.

My husband and I discovered Momotaro while walking around Carytown, and we decided to try it a couple of weeks ago. He's from NYC, so he's had a lot of good Japanese food over the years. We tried the miso soup first, and we immediately knew we'd found a gem of a place. Next we tried their Angie roll and Double Rainbow roll - perfection. The shumai was literally the best we've ever had. We also got a pot of hot green tea, which normally I'm not a fan of. Theirs was SO good we finished the whole pot together. We ordered shrimp hibachi next, and it was just as delicious as everything else. We had strawberry mochi with ice cream for dessert (honestly the best mochi I've had).Service was great - prompt and polite. The chef came out to check on everything a few times and he was super polite and grateful. We both agree this is one of our new favorite restaurants we've ever eaten at. We went back again tonight and ordered the miso soup, Angie roll, shumai, green tea, and mochi ice cream again, and tried their shrimp curry bowl. Of course we loved that too! I can't recommend Momotaro enough!!

My wife and I first ate at Momotaro about a week ago and we immediately fell in love with it! I've had a lot of Japanese food over the years and I still love all the food I've ordered so far. I don't frequently come across good miso soup, but their miso was so good that I was excited to try everything else. And it didn't disappoint! Their shumai is like nothing else I've ever tried--light, sweet, and savory all at the same time. Their Angie Roll and Double Rainbow Rolls were all the way across--I mean *delicious*. We tried their hibachi and curry bowl, which were both so flavorful. I loved their green tea and their dessert as well. The atmosphere was great, the service was quick, and the quality and amount of food you get for the price is simply amazing. We'll be going back a lot!

A very pleasant and delicious experience. Try the Imma Hot Momma... it's absolutely brilliant. Sushi chef was kind and attentive. Very excellent at making sushi. Cozy little spot in a cute part of town. Love it.

Came in at 630 on a Monday and grabbed appetizers (miso soup and ginger salad) which were great and then ordered a crazy dragon roll along with a volcano roll. Both came out in orderly time and tasted amazing. The service was quick and polite, never pushing to order or leave. Would come back anytime!

Ordered via GrubHub:Got two simple spicy rolls ($6.50 each) and a Kani salad ($7.50).Did not get what I paid for, and the taste isn't lacking, it is just missing. Rice tasted funky, and no flavors in the tuna/salmon. The spicy wasn't even there. The salad was mainly a leaf of lettuce with very little fake crab meat as it was. It was flavorful, but wasn't much so definitely a loss on almost $30. I did save $3 since it was my first, and last, time ordering from this restaurant.
