Mr. J's Bagels & Deli II

Purchased a dozen egg everything bagels to bring to my brother that lives in N Carolina. We grew up in NY and his favorite are the everything. We loved Mr. J's and have said they are just as good or better than NY bagels. When we had them for breakfast at my brother's we were taken aback by how terrible they were. Light with a bread consistency and tasteless even though they were everything. No longer had salt in the little bit of seasoning. Cost us a pretty penny for these very disappointing "store like" bagels.
Not sure why they changes from real bagels, but won't be back.

This location consistently is inconsistent when it comes to the bagels - overproofed, underproofed, underbaked, etc. There is no consistency from one week to the next. Today I had to confirm with my husband that he actually brought home French toast bagels because the color was uncharacteristically light. It's so disappointing. We are at the point that we may stop going to this location despite it being less than 5 minutes from us.

I love this place and I love the bagels but the couple times I’ve been to this specific location I get so frustrated and upset. There is not an ounce of customer service in any of these workers bodies. They act as if I’m an inconvenience to their day. I had to repeat my order to the guy who took my order 3 times and he didn’t even give me the drink I had to repeat to him 3 times! I hope that these reviews can be a wake up call to management to get it together. I love the food but the service is making me want to go else where !

I have visited here many times, and have always enjoyed it. While the place could be kept a little cleaner, overall it’s a solid breakfast spot and bagels and coffee spot. Prices are reasonable and food is solid.

Average at best. $1.35 extra for butter on a breakfast bagel and wanted me to put it on myself. Coffee so hot it burned my lip. Cinnamon roll was ice cold in middle.

It would be great if they knew how to cook scrambled eggs. Not flat, dry, or burned. And the turkey was very dry, could hardly swallow the sandwich.? Didn't have time to take it back. But everyone was pleasant.

Good bagels, okay coffee. From the time I walked in until I got my bagel, it took me over 30 minutes to get a lox bagel and a coffee. The palace is just not professionally run. Basically, a bunch of college kids operate it, and it shows. It’s slow and overpriced, not worth the wait. The $4 drip coffee I bought was nearly out of all the thermoses a little after 10 a.m. on Sunday.
