I will be sad to see this place go. I've enjoyed their food. The staff reports that tomorrow Jan 28th 2019 will be their last day open. The staff also said that the catering business will still be available.

DO NOT EAT HERE . I went home SICK ...nauseous and with a massive headache from their "fake" mock general tso and butter smothered vegetables though expressing serious vegan with diary allergy .

Terrible service if you are a vegan DO NOT eat here. Waiter lied multiple times and said no butter in vegetables after we told her vegan no dairy please, still got butter on vegetables. When we sent the food back she got mad and refused any other service . We asked for the manager , he confirmed it had a little butter and he too was rude even pointing his finger in our face... saying we waste food. I have never been treated so bad at a restaurant. We will never return. I am SICK with headache and stomach ache from the bite or two I took upon realizing what was in the food.

DO NOT EAT HERE . I went home SICK ...nauseous and with a massive headache from their "fake" mock general tso and butter smothered vegetables though expressing serious vegan with diary allergy . I am a vegan of many years. I asked specific questions upon ordering. First the waiter lied and said repeatedly there was no butter cooked with vegetables. Once I tasted my food after my long wait I knew it was drenched in butter. I sent the plate back she then got mad and had an attitude saying I was wasting food and their money. I was completely shocked of the tantrum a waiter was throwing over THEIR mistake. I asked to speak to the manager he then also had an attitude pointing his finger in my face while I was calmly explaining the situation while confirming the butter was in the vegetables. He then requested we paid immediately and no longer offered service. No apologies or cares about our concerns. This is a family owned business they can treat you any way they want. If you don't care what you eat and like RUDE service, this may be the place for you!

Horrible service. They stopped serving the entire party food because one person cancelled an order. DO NOT EAT HERE!

They disrespected my mother and auntie by not serving them because me and my wife cancelled the order. My wife asked the waitress multiple times "is there butter in the food" we ordered and she said "there is no butter". (By the way we are Vegans, which we made known to them).

.Well. This has been my GO TO Chinese restaurant in Richmond. Was NOT up to snuff tonight. Still have the GREAT dipping sauce but my meal ( chicken with cashew nuts ) was served warm and not HOT tonight and the flavor was flat..disappointed

Overpriced. Overcooked. Over-hyped. I have had better Chinese food from a hole in the wall restaurant. I ordered my food to go, and by the time I got home to eat it, I wanted to drive back to the restaurant to get my money back. My egg roll was greasy and tasted old and chewy. My Happy Family meal tasted like it belonged on the buffet line at a chain restaurant. The sauce was watered down and the shrimp were small. The vegetables were not firm, but soft and lost their flavor. Maybe I should not order my food after 9:00 PM when they are trying to get rid of the leftovers.

The. Best. Chinese. EVER! The chicken is chicken. The beef is beef. I can't say enough but when you have had enough nasty food then come try the good stuff. We don't order anywhere else anymore.

If I could give this place ZERO stars for customer service from the restaurant OWNER QUEENIE I would. She is by far the most unprofessional business woman I have ever met and there's aren't enough characters in this review to explain my horrific embarrassing experience with this woman QUEENIE. If you are interested to read more PLEASE read my review on Nanking's Facebook page. I wrote in detail about my experience! NEVER EVER USE NANKING FOR YOUR WEDDING EVENTS! She only wants one thing which is MONEY, and if she doesn't get the amount she wants then she will change pricing on you last minute! If you do ANY business with this woman, PLEASE SAVE YOUR SELF BY HAVING EVERYTHING DOCUMENTED and SAVE YOUR RECEIPTS! The food is delicious and this is why I chose this venue but Queenie was disrespectful, rude and unprofessional in every aspect even when I pulled up texts messages with pricing that she quoted me. She still proceeded to argue with no apology! If you want to eat delicious food and deal with OVERPRICED LIQUOR BOTTLES AND A DISRESPECTFUL OWNER THEN BY ALL MEANS, enjoy NANKING! But my friends and family will never spend a dime there again.

If I could give this place ZERO STARS for customer service I would! The food is delicious but it isn't good enough to deal with unprofessionalism And complete disrespect from the owner QUEENIE! She cares about one thing and that is MONEY! I booked this restaurant for my wedding reception ($1000 deposit) and due to medical reasons my husband had to have an emergency surgery which required us to cancel the venue 4 weeks before. I did NOT want to cancel and if we could have rescheduled, we would. But it wasn't an option for us. I called Queenie immediately after we received the doctors orders and kept her in the loop, she stated that we would not get any of the deposit back (which I understand and know how deposits work). She stated she is losing MORE money than us losing the 1000$ deposit because she special ordered my decorations and that used up majority of the deposit. She also stated there was no way for her to return those decorations. So I said okay, I still have family coming in from out of town (unfortunately plane tickets were non refundable) so I contacted Queenie to see if there was any way she could still accommodate me with 1 table considering the situation and that I will still pay for additional food. She said she needed to talk to her husband considering it's still a business and they are already losing money, she wasn't sure if they could accommodate a table for us for free. The next day she called me back and said she discussed with her husband and they will have one table special for us for that day (June 2nd) for dinner. I was really grateful and thankful and I made my arrangements to still come from GA to VA to do this special dinner with my family provided by Queenie. I called her Friday night (May 30th) and ordered 2 additional SPECIAL FRIED fish from the WEDDING menu to add. She said 3 fish total then? (There was already 1 fish included in the "free table"). The day of dinner, I text Queenie and asked if I could pay for 1 bottle of Hennessy (which originally for 20 tables, she confirmed the Hennessy 1 liter I wanted to order for my wedding reception was 49.99$. We arrived to dinner at 5, I order 2 house special fried rice off their menu and 2 calamari dishes and the bottle of Hennessy. They bring out what we ordered off their menu and the 3 special fried fish from the wedding menu. We are all sitting here having a good time thinking there would be more food coming out and they asked if we wanted a box? I looked at the server confused and asked "there isn't more food coming out?" And he stated, no but I will check". Queenie comes back to the table and I asked her if that was all the food? And she said, yes you were supposed to order off the menu. I said NO that is NOT what you told me. I wouldn't have drove 9 hours to come eat and still need to pay for all this food. We already lost our deposit and now we have to pay you MORE to eat when we discussed I would be accommodated with a "1 table" for my family to come eat. She proceeded to argue with me. At this point I asked her to just give me the check and we will pay for whatever we ordered but don't ever expect our business again. When we got to the counter, she kept arguing. if I heard her or understood her wrong WHY would she need to ASK HER HUSBAND TO APPROVE OF A FREE TABLE?!? If I am paying for the food REGARDLESS, then I wouldn't need her husbands approval to order food or to come eat in THEIR restaurant. I just wanted to pay and get out of there at this point, she proceeded to say fine I'll just charge you for the bottle. She then charged $175 for a bottle Hennessy VSOP when I have TEXT MESSAGES claiming and stating $49.99 a bottle of the 1 LITER. If she gave us a more expensive Hennessy then how is that MY fault? She knew what I asked for earlier and if there was a price difference she should have let me know BEFORE. When you quoted me $49.99 and also, that bottle in the abc store is 50$! She goes, we have to pay fo
