This is the comfort food you didn’t know you needed. Some friends and I happened to stop by during a quick trip to Richmond and had one of the best meals in quite a while. The flavors are well rounded and nuanced and all four of us thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The vegetarian duo app was great-if you love collards their collards are truly top tier. Really informative about their food and ingredients. Also: I bought a large packet of their berbere Ethiopian chili blend to take home. Used it to make a spicy garlicky honey glaze for smoked chicken wings, and it’s unreal!

Great Ethiopian restaurant, food was amazing! We were greeted kindly right away, the menu was perfectly simple. Great Vegetarian options as well. I recommend the Doro Tibs w/Shiro and Siga Wat. Lovely restaurant can’t wait to be back in Richmond!

Yosef and Ben immediately make you feel welcome, walking in there made me feel like I was coming home for my favorite meal. Yosef is extremely knowledgeable about his recipes and clearly is a master of his craft. He spent extra time after they closed to talk with us and was not rushed. This was truly one of my favorite experiences I've had. If that's not all enough the food is so good and unique in its flavor truly one of a kind.

I ordered takeout here & got the 5 veggie combo, im not too familiar with Ethiopian food but I was able to identify 4 of the samples I got, unfortunately the 5th one had cabbage & carrots in it which should’ve been the shiro but it looks like I was given the atkilt instead. I’m disappointed my order was partially incorrect but also because the food wasn’t really impressive.

I rarely eat at restaurants because I'm picky. But I've never been disappointed here. The food is excellent, the staffs cool and it's got nice atmosphere/decoration.

Got two entrees and two apps to go because we saw the high ratings and we love Ethiopian food. Very small portions and the injera was disgusting, almost smelt moldy and if they do it correctly then their sour dough starter is old. Ridiculously overpriced for the quality and quantity. Will not be going again and very upset that we spent over $60 for 4 bites.

Great taste of Ethiopia. Fresh food, great price, friendly service - had a good time discussing the World Cup with the staff! Highly recommend.

First time here. The food was very flavorful. They certainly know how to use their spices. We ordered the meat combo with 3 veggies. We included red lentil stew, mushrooms, and green beans and carrot. We also tried the cheese appetizer which we really liked. They also make a good cup of coffee and chai.

My wife and I were visiting Richmond, Virginia after attending a Nutrition In Medicine conference in Washington DC. I found this listing for an Ethiopian restaurant, and the pictures were attractive. Nile is a family run residentially located small and warm little restaurant. One of the three brothers working this day made suggestions. We ordered a sample platter with 6 of their numerous plant based dishes. Pictured here are Yellow Beans, Pea Flower Spread, Cabbage, Collard Greens, Potato in Tomato Sauce, and Lentils. The dishes are served on, and with, Etiopan Teff Bread. The food was wonderful! This is one of the most memorable culinary experiences I have had on my Plant-Powered journey. They deserve our patronage. Dr John

I visited here on the Discover Richmond Food Tour (Lindsey was our tour guide and she was amazing), and the food was amazing. I am now in love with injera! The owners were friendly and warm!

I’ve never had Ethiopian food before. Visiting from Massachusetts, my partner and I tried Nile for dinner. It was amazing. So flavorful, everything was delicious, and the food filled us up - we hadn’t eaten all day. 10000/5 stars.
