I used to frequent this location a few times a month since I work across the street. Less now, but not because it’s not good, only because I am trying to lose weight! Haha. Anyway, this location is great. Whether I order for pickup on the app or order in person, my sandwich is always so yummy! Their cookies are also the bomb! The staff is always friendly and some of them greet everyone who walks in. And the best part is they are FAST! Not sloppy fast, efficient fast! This location and staff knows how to run a fast food sandwich joint for sure. They are busy every lunchtime during the week, but it’s always well worth ordering from here. Highly recommend.

Boss decided last night he wanted to do something for National Nurse Practitioners Week. So he handed me his credit card and asked if I would help him arrange for an in office casual lunch. I immediately thought of Potbelly. I have had their yummy toasted sandwiches before, plus they serve Zapp's chips (THE best). I thought we could probably figure something out that would make everyone happy for lunch. So first thing this morning when I opened their website. I was thrilled to see they only needed an hour for a catering order. So I placed an order for two big box bundles (sandwiches, condiments, chips and cookies). The big box bundle offers a nice variety, including a vegetarian option. You can select your delivery and, boom, you are ready to go! With 2 big box bundles, I had lunch for 20. The nice delivery guy showed up exactly on time, set up my lunch, and within minutes, our group was happily chowing down. Thanks, Potbelly, for making this impromptu event easy to pull off!

Horrible experience, waited 20 minutes after the pick up time watching everyone in line get their food prior to an order placed in advance. The team members did not make any apologies or even speak to us and just handed us the bag. Please avoid this location as it is not up to the standards you would expect from this franchise.

Week of July 1-9 : This was my first experience ordering food at a Potbelly Sandwich Shop, unfortunately the experience was not good. A day of torrential rain and in downtown Richmond with NO ON STREET PARKING, we took a chance on Potbelly. My friend continued to drive the block while I ran through the rain into the shop. The shop was empty of customers except for me. I walk to the back of the shop where I presume customer orders are taken but the employee was involved in a conversation with co-workers and it took a few minutes or two for that to wind up. I greet the employee who says nothing. I ask if there is “ gluten-free” bread used as I have food allergies but was told, “No”. As I look behind this employee there is a young female employee with a vape pen in her mouth having taken a big puff. I directly questioned her about the use of a vape in a Virginia food establishment with foods prepared on site and her response was “ my Boss said it was OK”. REALLY?I did receive the food items which I ordered though I had no appetite by that point. My friend enjoyed hers, me, not so much. I settled for a what Potbelly called a salad though it did not resemble what I know as salad. I paid the bill and left Potbelly saying “Thank-you” and “Goodbye” as I left. No response from any staff at Potbelly’s. I’ll not be trying a Potbelly’s again any time soon.Virginia law may not look at vaping with the same critical eye it has with smoking but to the person who does neither, there is no difference. It is a gross and disgusting habit that has no place in food service anywhere on the food line. If you want to vape then take a break and go outside. Potbelly employees, be proud you are employed and make certain your employer always shines. There was nothing shining about Potbelly’s or its employees that day.Parking: Other than a paid parking lot there was no where to park. What we thought was parking for Potbelly’s was actually paid parking for a business situated behind Potbelly’s. Downtown Richmond be darned, provide some form of free parking or be nothing but a delivery based sandwich shop.Dietary restrictions: I have food allergies and was more than dismayed to not find lunch foods there I could eat. No dairy products ( no cows milk products or anything which incorporates cows milk) A salad was all I could find there and unfortunately is not a food I enjoy. Think about adding Almond milk products, plant butters and Gluten Free pastas, breads and cookies.

Found this place while trying to find somewhere else. Let me just say it was definitely worth the try. The turkey avocado was amazing . The staff was welcoming and quick. Definitely a recommendation if you are in the area. Only con, is parking.

Every time we find a potbelly we eat from here lol. This one did not disappoint. Apple walnut salad is great, Italia. Sandwich is great and chicken pot pie soup is AMAZING!!! definitely recommend and will continues hoping potbelly never disappoints lol

I wanted to love this place but after today I can't....employees cleaning their nails at the food prep (just gross)...placing salad dressing in the container with the food (unsanitary) and cell phones out texting instead of making the food...EPIC FAIL...I like the food but I'm concerned about what I saw, not trying to get sick....will probably not go back??♀??

Sandwich was very good, staff not so much. The man who was taking orders made eye contact once or twice and didn't say anything and finally said "I'm ready." I ordered a large sub and wanted two extra toppings on one half of the sub. One lady was putting the toppings on and another man came over to say "you know you could have just ordered two smaller subs and then got your separate toppings." I'm obviously very aware of that and chose to do it this way for a reason. I was not asked "how can I help you today" or "what can I get you" just "I'm ready" before placing my order, no one smiled or was friendly and I felt uncomfortable, like none of the staff wanted to be there and being treated like I was incompetent. I'm aware I could buy two subs but it's cheaper to split one big one and get the same amount of sub which is why I did it in the first place. Again, great sandwiches but I would chose somewhere else next time due to the lack of friendliness and unneeded opinions of the staff.
