It’s the closer convenience store in rocketts so I come here. Literally some of the worst cashiers ever (except Sheik (sp?)) with no customer service. The prices are NEVRR right and they’ll sit there and convince you it is. Like I got 1 $3 beer that rang up as $15. I kept telling her that was not right and she told me she couldn’t update it without her boss. Girl if you don’t divide $15 by 4 and get out my face or call your boss?? Also half the stuff is expired here. It’s April 2024 and this is in here and expired in Feb 2023??

The food and service was great. On my issue I had was we made a reservation and they called to confirm because they “expected to be full”. We arrived and we were the only people in the entire place. We asked for a table out side and side it was just me and wife we got a tiny table for two. While cozy there is literally not enough room for food and drink. We had the mimosas flight and that took up the whole table. When food came we had to move things around just to fit the plates. The server even apologized and said ya these tables are tiny. Now I might get it if it was the last table but we were the only ones there. We could have got a slightly larger table since the place was empty. Overall though great spot. Great views. Food was amazing and service was excellent. We will come back for sure.

Large parties seated all around us, so loud we could not talk to one another, our server was excellent but service was slow. Repeatedly bumped and banged as the large parties were up and down and somewhat rowdy. Not the elevated dining experience we were looking for....but yet very much paid for. The beautiful day and view could not override the atmosphere that surrounded us.

You can't beat the location. We took advantage of the warm weather and sat outside during the sunset. I suspect because of the warm weather and being Friday night, then Restaurant was unprepared for how many people showed up. The service was painfully slow and wasn't acknowledged. We all had the burger and fries and it was overcooked but otherwise tasted good. We'll definitely go back and will hope that this was just an off night.

No restrooms for customers at what is supposedly a cafe (basically just a convenience store)

The food was decent, even though my crab cake came out warm at best. The clam chowder was amazing. The pick 3 from 4:30-6pm for $29 is a good deal. The staff is where this chain location needs to do an overhaul. I would have expected the level of professionalism to be comparable to a Ruth Chris or McCormick and Schmick's where the staff working on the Sunday evening we went was on par with a Waffle House, maybe an Applebees.

The set up for diners is a mash up. Too close, I felt cramped no freedom to get up and move.. it was just a lot going on. The front desk acted like we were strangers instead of greeting us with excitement. Our waitress Veronica was very jovial, attentive and very busy... she.explained the menu to us. Over all we will come back and give it another try but this time I would like a window seat, not an isle one.

The venue is lacking. It felt outdated and not warm. The hostess that seated us was very pleasant. Our server was awesome. The bartender obviously had some difficulties because the two martinis that we ordered were not prepared as requested - dry, no vermouth and a twist of lemon (not too difficult). The bottle of wine that we ordered was also not the correct wine. The food was good, and we had a nice evening, but will not likely be returning any time soon.

Our first time there. We enjoyed the ambiance. Our waiters, Sam n Ryan were very professional, nice and attentive. The food was delicious and perfectly seasoned. I had the crab cakes and my husband had the broiled seafood platter. We even enjoyed the apple crisp for dessert. Definitely on our dinner list of favorite dinner spots in rva

We had a wonderful time but the "Brunch" menu could use a few more breakfast items. What we ordered was okay but I think the Boathouse has been around for so long, it could use a bit of a "makeover"...the value for what you get is not that great. Again, we had a great experience, I just think there needs to be some attention to the menu.

My wife and I have been coming here every year to celebrate our wedding anniversary, as we got married at this location. The food has always been amazing, but customer service wasn't always the best in past years, even after expressing that we were celebrating our anniversary. However, this past time, customer experience was by far the best that we've experienced. All thanks to Robert S. and the manager working yesterday night (1/24). They actually made the effort in making us feel special, and helping in us continuing to choose the Boathouse at Rocketts Landing as our tradition.

This experience was some better than our previous experience on last year. Decided to try it again but still needs improvement with wait time for food. Fried oysters were horrible and most crunchy breading. My husband got the seafood platter which was decent but definitely overpriced for the portion. Waiter experience was some better but not as attentive as we expected since they are now actually working to get their tip instead of the automatic 20% gratuity that was in the past. Still disappointing that this location which is closest to where we live does not measure up to our expectations or experience at the other locations In Hopewell or Short Pump.

We had a server named Joe he was very nice. His real name was Joseph, and he was very attentive and remembered to bring our orders in a timely fashion. If I could come back at another time, I would ask for Joseph again he was my favorite as far as the Avon in the atmosphere of the boathouse. I would advise anybody to come there and eat so slash and have a great time and the food was awesome.

Excellent in all ways, this is a top restaurant for me. My only complaint is that the waitress forgot to give us the promotional discount on our bill. Thankfully, I checked the QR code (which is only way to see the full bill) and uncovered this omission. Was this done on purpose?? Why do they hide the bill, and then "forget" to give you the discount?

My wife and I had a very good dinner. This was the first time we had been at the Rocket's BH location in 3 years and we're happy to see that their ordering routine is back to what it used to be, esp the paper menus. My wife ordered the Clam Chowder & Broiled Seafood Plate which was perfect for her (I would have liked a few more shrimp & scallops for the price). I ordered the Chilled Seafood Platter which was also very good and filling. Their CF Platter used to include smoked salmon and more shrimp and oysters but it was still good. The chilled lobster used to come with a melting butter w/candle but no longer, the kind waiter did bring me some nuked butter but naturally it got cold after the first dipping. All-in-all we left pleased and hope to return, sure wish they would bring back the Sunday Breakfast Buffet!
