Kooky vibe but the beers are fun and there was live music. Came here since it’s on the brewery trail and really enjoyed it as a stop.
I'm new to Richmond and stopped by while walking my dogs. Plenty of shaded seating on the side outdoors and the friendliest of people...I had someone offer to carry out a bowl of water for my dogs while I had 2 leashes and a beer in tow. Inside was cool and caters to military, teachers, locals--you name it. If the light beer I got (I'm on Keto for 60 days so a light beer already blows half my daily carbs) is any indication, I'm excited to return Memorial Day off my diet to explore all the sours, IPAs, and darker things I enjoy. I had the best light beer here I've ever had, though I rarely order light. 5 stars for sure!
On a road trip stopped by Strangeways for a break, friendly staff great beers!
They have the widest and most unique selection! Also the bartenders are amazing and patient with all questions. Lots of space and live music too. 💕
Great beer!!! Live music too loud to talk to my fellow beer enthusiasts at the furthest table from the stage 👎
Enjoyable brewery! Staff were friendly and attentive, and it gave off similar vibes to the OG production facility location a short drive away. Beer is enjoyable with plenty of sizes and options to choose from. The blues band playing elevated the experience. Great place to hit when trying to knock out all the Scott’s Addition breweries.
Most underrated brewery in Scott’s Addition. Excellent beer, exceptional service, great vibes!
If you're a fan of more sweet hard ciders and/or sour ales, stop into Strangeways Brewing. They sell all kinds of beer and the menu is organized by flavor. I ordered a flight of all the tart beers and found them unique. The Lucky Charms one is unique and tastes like the cereal. The cider is excellent and I loved the Razzle sour ale. So refreshing!
The space is one big room with plenty of tables and a corner of games. Most of the games are broken and come with missing pieces.
The service was efficient and friendly enough. Staff didn't seem thrilled to have three kids at the brewery, but alas.
Good beer, good service, good vibe!
Greats selection of beers, always changing and enjoying trying new drink.

I’m not a an of beer in general, but came in with co-workers one evening on a weeknight when they were completely dead. They have a lot of beer on tap, along with mead and other beverages. The guy working behind the counter was very helpful and offered up some suggestions of what I might like and I tried their root beer, which I believe was 8% and it was INCREDIBLE! Tasted like regular root beer, no malt or beer flavor to it at all! (The thing I hate about beer are the malt and hops flavors)
The place is quite large inside and they offer some small bites, like chips and pretzels.
This visit really surprised me in a positive way and I’ll definitely return!
I love strangeways theyre one of the OG Richmond breweries. Also dig teal rock on
Stop for a quick beer love the atmosphere and have lots of flavor. Definitely top 10
Strangeways is great for local hangouts as well as the perfect venue for friends from our of town. Whether there's live music or just a normal slow night the space makes for a great "brewery meets dive bar" atmosphere that welcomes anyone looking for a go to watering hole.
