I was entertaining international business partners and made the recommendation for the Boathouse. While we were seated promptly, that was the highlight of the experience. I am not sure if the waiter was new but we had to constantly summon him to the table to order something, including appetizers, drinks and our meal. There was only one water bottle on the table that remained dry for the last 30 minutes of our time there. I could see the visual frustration of my guests because of the inattentiveness of the wait staff. While we had great conversation, there was an obvious tension at the table as several glasses ran dry throughout the night and I can only recall one instance of actually being asked if there was anything else that we needed (and that was only after being summoned). I expected much better and I am sure my guests did as well. As far as the feedback received on the food, the scallops were under-cooked and the clam chowder was too salty. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a very embarrassing, disappointing outing.
We celebrated our 30th anniversary there last night and it was such an awesome experience, wish I could leave 6 stars! The view was beautiful, the steak and salmon both delicious, our server Zhane was incredibly attentive, we were totally spoiled! A special thanks to Zach Deaver for his role in arranging such a sweet celebration for us!
Excellent food, atmosphere and service. My wife and I sat on the back deck overlooking the James River with a really awesome view of the downtown Richmond skyline. We both had the 3-course meal with the New England Clam Chowder, Grilled Atlantic salmon, and Crème Brûlée dessert. The crispy brussel sprouts were also amazing as an appetizer. Excellent and we will for sure be back soon!
Food portions were extremely small but at least it was tasty. The service & aesthetics were very nice though.
The food and service is always consistently good. Unfortunately it is always VERY loud unless you are there at the end of the evening.
Food and service was excellent! Would recommend if you like spinach artichoke dip, mussels, clam chowder. Also the salmon, crab cakes, flounder and shrimp and grits were delectable. Would eat here again hands down a great experience.
We had a wonderful brunch experience. The server was Juliet and she was very pleasant and attentive. The food was a good. I will be returning soon.
The food was delicious and the staff was very inviting and friendly. John was very attentive and the host and the bar staff were great as well! Will definitely come back!
Wonderful evening by the river with our new friend Cece as our server! The food was yummy. My husband had fish and I had shrimp... so beautifully prepared and delicious! Cece was the best!
Very friendly staff. There was a crowd, but the food was brought out in a timely manner. Food was plentiful.and well prepared. Shamar was an excellent waiter.

I acknowledge it was a busy Sunday... and although we enjoyed our brunch with friends, the restaurant had a few glitches. No bread plates were readily available for sharing an appetizer with all 4 of us so we just ate directly from the serving bowl. Also ordered grits which never came. The wait person was very good, however. All in all, an just an okay visit.
We love the Boathouse down at Rocket's landing! The food was great! The service was a little slow this time, but we were warned that our waitress was being trained, and we weren't in a hurry, so it was fine. It can be very loud in there, so definitely take that under consideration, but over all, a great place for a nice dinner out.
The food was great, drinks were great, but Brianna was amazing!! Such great hospitality and service! Highly recommend and ask for Brianna.
The food was very good and the outside dining was really enjoyable with the river right next to us. The service was a little slow and the server didn't know how to open a bottle of wine. The manager had to come and open it. However, the fish was fresh and delicious and everyone was very friendly.
The waiter (Grace) need to specify that the gratuity is included in the tip. She failed to clean the tables, offer refills, offer complimentary fans, and provide a status update on the last two guest that was waiting on their main entree since all other guess were finished with their meals. Luckily my mother went to the bartender and CeCe kind of redeemed Grace a little bit and made our experience a whole lot better.
