I got the Coffee Flight, it was overall yummy and fun but the white russian had no flavor, I think they forgot to add liquor to it, or any flavor at all. My friend got the bacon wrapped jalapenos which she said were good. The cornbread was just okay. I got bacon wrapped scallops which were not good. The bacon was almost raw, and scallops were not cooked very well, kinda a bummer. The mashed potatoes were amazing though. Both my friends got the grilled chicken sandwich and said it was good but they also said there was nothing special about it. We were disappointed after reading such good reviews about the place overall.
Stopped by for brunch and really enjoyed the cozy, charming vibes. The food was good (not mind-blowing, but satisfying) and the staff was incredibly friendly with great service throughout. It's a small restaurant, which adds to the charm, but also means tight tables (ours barely fit two plates and drinks) and only two bathrooms, so be prepared for a bit of a wait. Overall, a nice neighborhood gem if you're nearby, but probably not a destination spot worth going out of your way for.
One of my favorite restaurants, and the food is always fantastic with variations with the season. Service was prompt, friendly, and courteous.
First time at the Savory Grain and it did not disappoint. We had a reservation for a party of six for a Sunday Jazz brunch and everything was outstanding! Great food, great service (Ansel), great atmosphere, great everything! We will definitely be back!
Food and service were outstanding. Everything was delicious. Served was very attentive. Other diners did get loud around 7pm and it was hard to hear the person across from you, but certainly not the restaurants fault.
we were in town for a wedding. We went to the Museum of Fine Arts and were looking for a lunch spot. The Savory Grain looked interesting. What a bonus - live jazz. The food, beet & apple salad was crisp and fresh; the quiche a bit not to our liking. Our server was delightful and was attentive although she had a huge part of 20 to serve. But...Having jazz music while we dined was a treat.
Raegan was superb! Personable, friendly, funny. She had great food and beverage recommendations and was just attentive enough throughout the meal to let us enjoy our family time while also making sure we had everything we needed. Apps were wonderful. Entrees were very tasty with the highlight being the shrimp and grits. The beets knees was a really interesting gin cocktail that was unexpectedly good. Dessert was...wow. The chocolate cake was divine. This was our second time here (once for brunch) and it has quickly become a family favorite.
If you haven't been here, get here fast! I don't know who the chef is, but my compliments to HER! The waitress was attentive as well. Can't wait to go back!

Great live jazz and ambience on a Sunday afternoon BUT we waited about 45 minutes for our order and our server never updated us that it would take so long. Then, my eggs showed up completely overcooked. I asked for over easy and was really wanting some liquid yolks to spread over my potatoes but they showed up over-rock-hard. When I pointed out the problem to the server, she made no effort to make it right. They could at least offer to buy my beer or do something. They did nothing. What a disappointment in a venue with so much potential. Take care of your customers guys. When eggs and potatoes cost $20, people expect them done to order…

I really enjoyed the food. I had the creamy chicken and dumpling soup which was so good. I followed it with the baby wedge, also delicious. The only compliant was it is hard to hear when they are completely full. So if youre going for a quiet romantic date this probably isnt the best first choice because of the acoustics however if youre going with friends or family to enjoy great food and a little louder atmosphere this is perfect.

Where do I start? From beginning to end the experience at Savory Grain has been incredible. I booked a large party here for my birthday and Reagan was so kind and helpful. All of the staff here are so kind and helpful . Not to mention the fooooooddd. Omg its exquisite. Real southern cooking from the soul. It was all our first time here and you blew us all away. Keep up all the hard work.
