We had to wait a few minutes to be seated, which is understandable since it was a holiday, but I did have to call the front desk to get someone to come to the entrance and assist us.
The menu is fairly small, and vegetarian options are quite limited. That said, the food was a pleasant surprise. Despite the limited menu, everything was well executed. The chicken burger was generously portioned, juicy, and flavorful, and it was clear they weren’t using old oil. The fries were perfectly cooked, crispy, and not greasy.
The atmosphere is casual yet sophisticated, and during our visit it was calm and relaxed.
Overall, the value is worth it, and based on this experience, I would definitely come back.

The experience was very disappointing. Out all the places we could have dined this was a fail on so many levels. From the poor service to the over cooked food that took forever to come. If it had not been for the bartender we might have not even been severed. Would definitely not recommend!
Sunday night provided a relaxed vibe. Other nights might be a bit more lively. We were there for a date night. We had two servers that made our night out very special. Our table was set up w/a table cloth, a bucket of ice w/several of my husband's favorite drink (S.Pelligrino), & a reserved placard w/our name. We enjoyed the fried green tomatoes, crab soup, tavern chicken & everything but the kitchen sink sundae 🍨. Thank you Marshall & Isabel for making our night out extra special.

Lovely waitress She crab soup was thinner than I would expect...actually added the crab dip to thicken it. S'mores dessert yummy.
Literally the worst service ever.
It’s a “seat yourself”.
Two other and I took a seat, five minutes pass by and we had to flag down a waiter. He takes our food and drink order and 25 minutes later; we still have no drinks. My group just ended up leaving. Others were doing the same.
I guess no one wants to make money?

I stayed here for a week with work and I found the Bar Restaurant to be perfectly fine. Staff very pleasant and professional. I had either the Caesar Salad with Chicken or Byrd Park Burger with Fries and no complaints. IPA beers also nice. It lacks atmosphere but that's understandable. I was quite happy in my own company after long day at work watching the Basketball on big screen.
We had holiday brunch with friends. The restaurant is lovely, the service was on point, and the food was great!
Staff was nonchalant about our presence. Food was overpriced. We sent crab cake sandwich back because it was undercooked. There was too much filler in it as well.
Family of five had breakfast and dinner. The food is great and the service was exceptional. The scenery around the Tavern was very welcoming and felt home-like. 5 stars!

Service was great. Loved the "porch" area. I was disappointed that the breakfast potatoes weren't gluten free. They are listed as such on the menu, but they are fried in a shared fryer, so they are not gluten free. I ordered the grits instead, which tasted really weird. I couldn't pinpoint the spice they used. Just stick with salt and butter.
Casual bar and restaurant with decent food. If you don't expect much, you won't be disappointed. Caesar salad was fresh and steak was ok.
My friend and I grabbed one drink at this bar and had a horrible experience. We sat at the bar, ordered a drink and decided to play pool. Immediately we are told by one of the servers to “watch our language” because there were children in the bar. Keep in mind we were not belligerent idiots and, yes there were some curse words said, but we were in a bar grabbing an alcoholic …adult… drink. So, we then tried to be more mindful of our language while playing this game of pool. Note that we asked if someone complained and they said no. The pool table was too close to the wall, so I hit the wall with the stick by accident and said a curse word just under my breath. The server, who was hawking me the whole time, came back and told my friend to stop. We were then so upset with the atmosphere that we ended up not finishing our drinks, paid, and left. There was only one table with two kids not very close to us.

The staff are extremely rude and condescending. We could not play a match of pool without getting harassed every few minutes about our "language" when there was no one around us or complaining. We were keeping it quiet except the employees were helicoptering us for no reason the whole time.
