I love the food here, and the vibe is great. The prices are fair. It's nice to sit on the outdoor patio and run into neighbors.

I've been on the hunt in Richmond for the best quesabirria tacos, and I've found them at Y Tu Mama, No other restaurant has even come close! The beef is moist, tender, very flavorful and PLENTlFUL. The melted cheese is perfect. The outside layer of the taco is nice and crispy. The tacos alone are amazing. Dipped in their beef consomme, they ought to be illegal 😂 I also ordered the Arroz Con Pollo (which tasted pretty good) Chips with some top tier queso, and a side of black beans (which tasted amazing alone and paired with the Arroz Con Pollo). Y Tu Mama gained a new fan today! The only thing I didn't love was the large chunks of chicken thighs in the ACP. The flavor is on point, but I prefer the small strips of breast normally served in this popular dish. I may just order a side of rice with queso next time.

Fantastic food and beers paired with the veil. Ultimate parenting hack to is to spend as much time as possible on the playground with little ones.

One of Nelson's amazing restaurants is in the Richmond area. Not to be any exaggeration, it's the best barria I've had in a 50-mile radius. The service at the Veil is what you'd expect: solid and very responsive. But the food stands out just as much as the venue! I had to take my order home for privacy reasons, I needed alone time with that meal sheesh

After years of coming to Y Tu Mama, my wife and I ordered nachos with carnitas. After bringing it back to the table, we quickly realized this was not like the nachos we had gotten so many times before. There was almost no cheese sauce or quesa fresca and no pico or guacamole. I thought it would be a simple fix and went up to the counter and spoke with the guy from Vail that was handling out the orders. I showed him, he agreed, tried to talk with the Y Tu Mama person and came back with tiny little thing of pico, and said I sorry, there is nothing else he could do. Honestly, given what was in front of me, I was shocked. I simply said it is a shame that after years of coming here this is the answer, again he said sorry. My wife wanted to go to Väsen anyway. I do not think we will be back now.

Good food. Reasonable prices. You order at the counter & get a buzzer that lights up when your food is ready so you can pick it up. I'm not a beer drinker but they had a lot to choose from. Went for the trivia on Tuesday.

Birria tacos were probably the best I've had. Loved the crunch of the taco...stands up to dipping and doesn't become soggy. Great food. Good price.

Food was amazing I would definitely recommend
These are hands down my favorite tacos in the city. Generous portions and fast service. The carne asada tacos are juicy and flavorful and my go to. I've never been a big fan of pork but I tried their carnitas tacos and that had to be the best carnitas I've had in my life.

At an average of $15 per person, this place is good and unlike many Mexican food places in the Richmond area, they do give you a generous $15 worth of food! We got birria tacos and a Chesterfield Burrito, which turns out to be a chorizo-beef-pork mammoth drowned in white sauce. Now was the taste explosive and unique? No but both were quite *good*! Not a place I’d go out of my way to go to, but also not a place I’d purposefully avoid. I have to give props for at least making their birria tacos properly with a double tortilla and more than a tiny 1oz soup like many restaurants strangely do. The tortillas seem to be fried so the level of crunch was an atypical but nice surprise . Definitely a convenient meal if you’re already at Veil Brewing and get hungry. The employee was nice, although she forgot to give me any utensils or napkins (or maybe they don’t give those out, idk), which did mean I had to wait to get home to eat vs eating out as planned. Soup and a sauced up burrito is a bit challenging with just your fingers, haha.
Absolutely delicious every time I go to this place.
