We just moved back to Richmond from New England and have been searching in vain for good pizza until now. Zorch is the winner by a mile!
A bit overrated compared to Belmont Pizza and Mary Angela's.

I swung by pretty late, and only stuck around to get a slice of pizza, but boy was that a good slice of pizza. I got the Grandma (which is basically your standard margherita pizza), and it was excellent! Rather than serving it display temperature, they reheated it beautifully, and the crust was super crisp. They also used fresh basil which was a really nice touch. I can't wait to go back to try their pizza fresh!
They also had a selection of vegan pizzas, which I've heard were really good.
The place also has a Kirby theme, which I don't quite get, but is appreciated 👍

Ever since Carmella’s closed down in one of Richmond’s oldest neighborhoods shockoe bottom, I’ve been coming here zzq in Cary town. The employees are all stars and the pizza especially pepperoni , almost like a pizza pie and their Detroit are favorites. They used to open up earlier and serve breakfast, but no longer. Glad to try their breakfast creations when they did those

My only regret is living downtown and not visiting the place sooner. This is hands down the best pizza I've had in Richmond, and the first non chain pizza besides Mellow Mushroom that is absolutely worth the money. I am a huge New York style pizza fan and my Goodness, eating this pizza is a spiritual experience. I know this sounds crazy but pictures just won't do it justice, and the pictures already look incredible. I can't recommend this place enough man, they are truly on another level.
Parking: Parallel parking spots along Cary St. Carytown can get busy so you may sometimes have to park on a side road, but this is standard city parking.

First let me say the lady at the bar and the other patrons were lovely. Very nice and welcoming. The pizza however was horrible in my opinion… I had the whiteout I believe and it literally had no taste outside of a burnt crust. Also the setup with the door being right by the seating area takes away from the eating experience. It’s hard to enjoy anything when you have 30 degree air constantly blowing on you.

My husband & I are both from NY & so we obviously are not impressed by just any pizza. We had been looking for something even remotely close to NY Style Pizza for a while until we found out about Zorch’s! & let me tell ya this was sooo good. One of the BEST we’ve tried in the area so far. The crust and sauce to cheese ratio was just righttt 😋
The pictures don’t do it justice but just do yourself the favor and try it! I will say, the parking was annoying but worth it!

I took my 11 yo son to the Pizza Parlor on Forest Hill and we had a blast. Vibes that made me feel like I was grabbing pizza after soccer games in the 90s, this spot is just cool. Always top pizza, amazing people behind the bar and in the kitchen, and my son loved that 'Clone Wars' (the animated series) was playing on the TV.
If you get a chance, check this place out and if you were playing rec soccer in the early 90s you'll totally get that nostalgic feeling.

Great pizza, the grandma and the upside down are my faves with blackened ranch. They seem to run out of most or all of their menu items by 7:30/8pm most days tho. I live nearby and I've tried to go probably 6 times and have only been successful 3. Last time I stopped by they were mysteriously closed during business hours so I would recommend calling before stopping by to make sure they're open/have what you're looking for.

Like most people I'm a big fan of all things pizza so after hearing about this place I decided to make the brave journey to this section of Cary Street to try a slice. Now this is no small matter as this area is crowded, cramped and good luck finding a parking space, basically hell on earth to me but enough of that let's talk about the pizza. Zorch has obviously done their homework as the crust to me has the perfect texture, firm but a little chewy with just the right amount of char. The sauce is fantastic as well with just the right amount of zing and sweetness. They also use just the right amount of high-quality cheese and the slices were served piping hot. Now I love cup pepperoni however it’s the only real, pepperoni that they offer and while it is delicious it’s also very salty so much so that it oversalted my slice. What could have been a perfect slice of pepperoni pizza was killed by how salty it was. I appreciate how much pepperoni that they use but would prefer a mix of regular and cup which would help tame the saltiness. Another nick to the place is that the selection is very sparse, the only fresh topping that they offer is basil and caramelized onions, I also believe that you can add banana peppers but it’s not on their website. So, no mushrooms, black olives or fresh green peppers, which could be a result of them wanting to keep things simple. Speaking of keeping it simple they have opened another place south of the river which has parking but no pizza by the slice so if you want to grab a quick slice for lunch, that’s a no go. Overall, I’d say they missed it by that much on the pepperoni slice, however if you are a simple cheese pizza lover you probably won’t find better. I should also note if your one of those gross vegans they have options for you as well but I’m not going to try a fake slice of pizza just to leave a review so you guys are own your own.
