Man, this place is awesome. Lately, not many places are worth the visit with places over charging, cutting corners, poor food quality, and over saucing everything. I ate the brisket with no sauce and cowboy beans. I was prepared for a mediocre experience and was proven wrong. I have less than 3 restaurants I will frequent. This one shot up to number 1. The meat was outstanding. The bun was small, so at a glimpse, I was a little let down. Then I sat and studied the sandwich and a small bun, but man, it was stuffed with the most delicious smoked beef. I didn't add any sauce. I just enjoyed it plain. I can't wait to try the ribs next week. Oh, the staff - excellent attitudes. Easy going, not 1 of them had any issues walking you through the process, clean, talked about the menu, just amazing with the customers. The people are good. Didn't hit the bar, but it looks like they got that covered. I'm really looking forward to going back. Forgot - got some different sodas thrybare called Tractor. Enjoyed their version of soda. It wasn't so heavy. This is a great place all around an amazing smoked meat.

This is an amazing BBQ place. Do yourself a favor and stop it. It might be busy but it's worth the wait. I skip the bread and just try the meats. They charge by the pound so pick what you want. Brisket is truly yummy.
Great food, great service. Only one issue encountered we went at lunch and I'll have to be functional until 5PM.

There was a lot of hype about this place. But the barbecue was pretty bland and there wasn't many options. For side items there was no Mac and cheese. There was no french fries of any kind it's very disappointing.

Went in today for a roast beef and cheddar sandwich. The cheese sauce is the best. Took home brisket and Mac and cheese for dinner. ZZQ is legit the best brisket I've ever had, and I've been to Texas.
Definitely not the best BBQ in RVA maybe 4th or 5th...super expensive too for something that is widely considered comfort food. Go to deep Run or BAR-Q for legit 🔥 If the owner of said restaurant can't handle an opinion then maybe said owner shouldn't have a public profile 🤔🤣 it's cool though still waiting for an award or two from them 🕚🕑🕛🕘🕙

Being from Texas, I always like to checkout joints like this that claim to be "Texan style". This was the first to live up to the name and definitely reminded me of home. The brisket and sausage were absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend!

Fantastic place to visit and grab some BBQ. The Brisket is really good. Sausage is different. I didn't like it but I'm sure most would. Can't say anything about the ribs or most of the meats because they were long sold out by the time we got there lol which is obviously a good sign. The sides are also a hit. The loaded mash is amazing. The staff is great and friendly even at the end of day service.
