Banquette manager is a real piece of work. Extremely rude . Mocked my mother for slipping on the soaking wet floor which they mopped while we were still eating. Mind you, they didn’t bring our food out until 15 mns before closing and made US feel like a burden for being there late. Trust me, we were all dying to get out of there after waiting an hour. The guy who TOLD us to walk through the soaking wet floor didn’t even bother to help when my mom fell. he just stood directly behind us and said “there’s a wet floor sign over there.” (It was folded up behind us) And then proceeded to practically push us out the door. He had his palms out facing us , blocking us from even turning around to see if the rest of our group was still with us. That’s when the surly banquette manager sarcastically shouted at us “be careful!”
Just ridiculously hostile and such slow service
The spot on this side of Roanoke for Happy Hour. The bartender was great. Very friendly and on top of her game. The beers and cocktails are served very cold and there is no question that there is alcohol in the cocktails. Food is delicious and served hot and well seasoned. Dinning room was very busy, especially for a Tuesday evening. Would recommend you stop in.

I don’t like writing reviews like this but we had a rough experience Friday night at Montano’s. Staff was nice but hanging at the end of the bar dropping F-bombs all night. Ordered oysters from the specials menu but come to find out they left the wrong specials menus in after we ordered. They then sent out an oyster that would have made anyone sick. They did replace. We then ordered off the proper specials menu but immediately found out they were out of that item. No biggie, ordered other entree’s which came out. Took one bite and had a long black hair in the food. Again stuff happens, took another bite and another long hair. Truly disgusting! Sent it back obviously and they did comp that entree. It’s a cool place and very lively but the staff, food and management are not worth patronizing and taking the risk with your money.

I mean I went here for my 21st and now treating my grandma for mothers day. Prices a tiny bit steep sure but I mean the drinks were fire the food they give you filling portions and they dont rush you plus the staff is chill. I like it alot personally going for dinner all 5 times I been there. I put parking as not sure cause it depends since theres shops around it and the UPS place

So, I looked up a Pats Philly out of curiosity and Pats on a nice Italian bread Similar to a Chicago beef sandwich. The flavor of the sandwich here at Montanos was good, but the bread was a situation. Almost like a soft squishy sourdough or something with no crust at all. With proper bread could be a 5star sandwich.

I ordered the fish and chips. The fish had a really thick batter on it. It appeared to be almost burnt. The inside had a small piece of fish and the batter was gummy. I sent this back and received another order of fish and chips. It was the same gummy mess. For seventeen dollar I would expect something edible. I then ordered a hamburger cooked medium and when it arrived it’s was really well done. The server came back and asked about the burger and I stated it was well done. She looked at it and said it was medium. You would think a server would know the difference between medium and well done. I have had a fish sandwich at McDonald’s that was better than the mess I was served. The owner was in the restaurant but obviously didn’t care about the food being served. I will not be returning anytime soon or probably not at all.

I having been enjoying the food & atmosphere at Montanos for years, always a treat! My Mom recently celebrated a special birthday, Montanos was her choice. The event space was reserved, Lenora guided us through the entire process with ease from reservation to menu selections. Guests raved about the food. The bright & welcoming space was clean and organized, such a great venue for fun with friends & relatives....the icing on the cake was the service provided by Summer, exceptional!! Both Lenora & Summer are skilled in knowing the details, all we had to do was show up and be present. Thank you ladies!!

Haven't been to Montanos in many years, and it has not changed much. Arrived about 11:30 am and by 12:30 pm the placed was packed for lunch. The service was a tad slow, but there were many to be served, and the wait staff were very busy. My lunch mates got the Salmon Salad (the Ponzu dressing was reported as tasty and was the highlight of the salad) and a Shrimp Salad, and deemed their meals excellent. I got the Chicken Ranch Wrap, and was a little disappointed. The bread wrap was very thick, and a little tough to bite, with few vegetables, (tomato, red onions, & cucumber cubes) but the chicken breast meat was juicy and mostly tender. All were reasonable in price. I'd recommend Montanos, as the atmosphere is interesting, and the food and service are pretty good. It's been serving Roanoke since 1969!

The restaurant had cleared from the heavy lunch crowd, which made service excellent and food arrival timely. The highlight of the meal was the handmade onion rings which were immediately devoured as soon as they hit the table! The fried green onion pimento cheese BLT was tasty with tangy green onions and homemade pimento cheese. Bread was toasted a little over but that added to the crunch, especially with the crunchy bacon. This was an excellent sandwich! My dining partner ordered the Italian sub, and I noticed the bread was also a little blackened on the ends but it was deemed delicious. The variety of the menu is tremendous here and I don't think I've ever gotten a dish I didn't like. Highly recommend. Montano's.
My dining mate reported that a tip appeared on her credit card bill that she did not add. She left cash tip on the table. Guess this waitress got tipped twice, but how is unknown.

Oh my goodness!! The shrimp and grits are, by far, the best in the area. They seemed a little understaffed and our server did fine, but there were some definite lags that have not existed before. There was one young man that was helping remove plates, and assist as he could, and he seemed ti be very helpful. Overall a great dinner. Thank you

Each category is ranked 4⭐
But reduced the overall to 3⭐
Was a mid-high volume evening around the holidays, factoring that in--so will try again.
3-4 menu items or beer option- the waiter came back to say unavailable, it started to get comical. After the second unavailable, it would have been a courtesy to offer a drink or other token for the disappointment.
(Full disclosure-- it may have been addressed on another ticket in my party but I don't believe so.)
Also, for the seafood dip appetizer, the amt of bread wasn't enough, for the amt of dip or price. When requested a few more slices, received standard rolls cut up. A kind of cheap move.
The pork with pears was excellent. I appreciate entrees that come with both a starch and vegetables. Wish more did, rather than just meat and potato.
Cakes looked good except many looked more like a sliver than slice.
Staff was very good but shy of exemplary.
Will try again, I think this should be a solid 4-5⭐ restaurant option.

We had reservations for 11:30 (8 people) on a Saturday. We were told multiple times that they had another party coming in at 1:00 and would need this table. We were still eating and the waitress tried taking our plates. I didnt get a refill, I am not sure about anyone else. I felt rushed to finish and leave. There was a gentleman (was told it was the owner) that stood watching us less than 10'. He stood there nearly the entire meal. A ticket was given to one person, instead of being asked if they needed to be split. People were still eating when to go boxes were handed out. Good food but not a pleasant experience. I feel like our experience should have mattered as well because we were paying customers.
