Great bar, with friendly staff and a good range of beers including some lovely hoppy IPAs.

NON-EXISTENT CUSTOMER SERVICEI recently found out about an event that was happening at one of my favorite local breweries, and I decided to visit on my day off to have a beer and get some information. When I arrived, I observed a special sign highlighting the upcoming event. It was early in the afternoon and it wasn’t busy at all. There was a woman with pigtail braids tending to the bar.Immediately upon entering, the bartender gave no greeting of any kind, rather she simply stated, “Here’s the beer list.”Smiling and making eye contact, I attempted to engage her about the event from the sign out front, and she provided absolutely no information about it beyond saying to check the Facebook page. It seemed like she could care less about what was happening, and the utter lack of customer service disturbed me to the point that I decided that I wouldn’t be spending my hard-earned dollars here after all. I simply thanked her for her time and departed without further interaction. After working for years in several different customer facing positions, I have noted that the best customer service begins with a greeting and a smile. Saying ‘hello’ or ‘good morning’ or ‘good afternoon’ takes absolutely no effort. It takes fewer muscles to smile than it does to frown. Being fair, I have no idea what her life is like and what her struggles are, but when you choose a job where customer service is one of your chief responsibilities and has a direct impact on potential tips, the saying ‘fake it ‘til you make it’ should be a mantra. If customer service and basic human interaction matters to you, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Thankfully there are many choices in the area where my money will be better spent.

Still dreaming of the pineapple IPA. Options for everyone available, lots of space, staff was kind. Sunday had trivia, but not too crowded which was great.

The market location is convenient and spacious. The tap selection is good (about 12 different selections on at our time of visit) ranging from fruited sours to stouts and including hard seltzer. We tried the Colorshow (fruited sour with blueberries) and Wicked Garden (standard IPA) and were pleased with both.
Amazing atmosphere and delicious beers. Wide variety of brews including fun sours, Mexican lagers and IPAs. It’s a can’t miss in Roanoke.

wonderful, vibrant beer joint. The beers were all excellent, and the team of 'K &K' behind the bar made our first visit to Olde Salem Brewing (and Roanoke) wonderful. AND they convinced us to come back for their 1 year anniversary, which was a blast. we look forward to visiting this location and the original in Salem again and again after we move here.

Our bartender Phoenix didn't seem to care about our order or our drinks. Seems to be on some type of drug.
