This place is legit. I consider carnitas the litmus test like pancakes at a NJ diner. Very authentic, meat done perfectly. Excellent choice of sauce including white sauce which I don’t tend to see outside of Baja. The roasted pepper was a nice touch…seeds left in for some heat. Service awesome. It got very crowded on a Friday there was a wait by 5:45pm. Will be back when in Roanoke again.
The staff is very nice and still efficient. This is a real Mexican place- ok, with a few accommodations (such as turning down heat level of spices) to what people in Virginia like. The food is still authentic and tasty. But, anyway, adjusting a bit to the customers is good business but also polite. Which is, indeed, very Mexican. They seem to like to accommodate children as well.
I've had Mexican food in California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Utah, Colorado, NY, Florida, all the Latino hit beds in this country. This place could go toe to toe with 95% of the meals I've had in any of those places. Absolutely delicious and the amount of food I got for $25 (including tip) was awesome as well
