I am giving 5 stars because this little deli shop is not trying to be anything else but a humble breakfast and lunch place with freshly prepared sandwiches. They get bagels from Brooklyn. So far I have tried the bagel sandwich that included lox, cream cheese, onion, caper, and tomato; a turkey sandwich; and a roast beef sandwich with bright pink rare roast beef, cheddar, and horseradish mayo; and of course bagel with schmear (cream cheese). The breakfast bagel sandwiches are so tasty that my guy goes about once a week. The restaurant is very small so lots of their business is takeout.

My partner’s from NJ, and he approves. The vibe of the place reminds him of home. We tried their Jersey Special, but on plain bagels. Delicious. The Taylor Ham is sliced thinner, which I personally prefer over the thick slices. I also got the Frankie, and my partner a buttered bagel. We enjoyed both. There’s a paid lot across the street, which was convenient. We’ll definitely be back!

I got a bagel here and it was toasted and smeared with cream cheese very well. The service was very friendly and I will most definitely be coming back for another bagel or another one of their menu

R. T. Smiths deli is amazing. I have never been able to finish my meals there. Every trip to Roanoke we plan to get lunch there. The cheesesteak is world class. The bread that they use is fantastic. Very nice polite people work there. It is a "must go to" if you are going to Roanok.

I'm new to this place but I'm in love!!! Great Subs/Sandwiches. I Wish they were open later though. So you just have to make time to make it down there.

Terrible service, very rude and disrespectful. We walked in and were instantly greeted with a rude attitude even while we continued to be polite! The place is nasty and unsanitary! The toilet in the bathroom is absolutely disgusting! Sandwiches are not to bad but definitely not worth the possibilities of eating something nasty/unsanitary and dealing with the rude service! Will definitely be contacting Roanoke city to file a complaint.
