Absolute RAVE!! Our waitress was amazing, the owner is so sweet. The food and drinks are out of this world. Would recommend this spot to everyone, it makes for the perfect date night. Our order: Short Rib w/greens and fingerling potatoes, Dirty Rice & Black Beans w/chicken, and 2 Raspberry White chocolate cheese cake slices.

The owner and staff take pride from the moment you walk through the doors. Great wine selections with an array of dishes for any palate. The duck was on point, the filet was cooked to perfection, and nothing but positives on the chicken. Thank you so much for such an amazing evening with friends enjoying a perfect night. Shout out to Rockfish!

Excellent! This was my first time here but won’t be the last! The service was great, and the food was delicious and fresh. We had the fish special, the snapper, the crab cakes and the ahi and everything was prepared perfectly. The portions are perfect size. We also had the charcuterie and calamari which were both very good. The apple cobbler was a delicious end to the evening. The ambiance is quiet and romantic, which seems very hard to find in Roanoke. It would be a perfect date night spot. It wasn’t inexpensive, but it was worth it!

We had a large group of 50+ people coming to Roanoke for an event and needed to find a place that could take all of us for dinner on a Thursday evening. Found Rockfish on a "Best of Roanoke" list and reached out a week before our arrival date. Spoke with Olivia (the owner) who suggested that for a group our size that we reserve the restaurant for a private event, which we did. Olivia customized a menu for us consisting of a set of appetizers which would be served right when people arrived, a choice of 2 salads (mixed greens and caesar), 3 entrees (red snapper, filet mignon and chicken) and 3 desserts (apple cobbler, mocha truffle torte, cheesecake)...all items from their regular menu.Suffice it to say the evening was a huge success. The restaurant space was elegant, the food was fantastic, and the service/staff could not have been better. Huge thanks to Olivia and Rockfish Food and Wine for everything...exceeded our expectations in every respect.

Small portions. Duck was tough and lacking taste. Other dishes were acceptable, but not shining stars. IMO deserves $$$ rating

My husband and I met another couple for dinner. We had not been to this restaurant before. The hostess was warm and friendly and sat us where we requested. The wine and beer selection was appealing, although the wine prices were expensive. The entree menu does not offer extensive options, but everything was delicious and well-presented. Our server was helpful and attentive. We enjoyed the experience and plan to go back!

Rockfish food and wine turned out to be one of my most treasured restaurants in Roanoke. I had a perfectly cooked scallop meal complimented with coconut rice and asparagus. They have a great selection of wine and craft beer. The service is outstanding with a cozy atmosphere perfect for dining. We will definitely go back.

We walked in right when they opened at 5:30pm. We were the first customers there and were told they only had two, 2-seater tables next to the window. Umm, ok. It was so cold in that section we left our jackets on. Service was fine. Food was fresh and tender, but incredibly bland tasting. We had calamari, redfish, and the bolognese. They had a live band setting up to play at 6:30pm. The restaurant is not that big to begin with, and we were not about to stick around to try to fight being able to hear each other. Oh, and when we left 45 minutes later, there were only 2 other people there, stuffed into another 2-seater table somewhere else. Yet they were "so busy" they had to put us in a freezing corner. What happened to the "only tables available" were where we were?

Mediocre food (the weak link), not worthy of the price, nice location and excellent service. I wish the owner would upgrade the culinary experience, then, this restaurant would be a neighborhood gem.

I was looking forward to good seafood for a special occasion with my son and his girlfriend. The food was very good, but the portions were so small that we left hungry. My son had salmon and I had scallops. I think my son finished his entree in about three bites. I was served three scallops and very little else on the plate. We had already had the hummus appetizer which was only so-so. The service was good, as were the drinks. I knew it would be pricey, and I didn't mind that. It's just not worth the price for so little food, even if it is tasty.

I was traveling in Roanoke and stopped in for dinner. The staff are nice and it was a cute place that seems to be frequented by locals. I'd say the food is good but nothing that is exceptional. The filet mignon was small but tasty (usually like it with more of a sear/crust), potatoes were good, green beans that didn't really have tomatoes in it were forgettable. The key lime pie was just ok. Glad I stopped in but not sure I would return it back in the area given the price point for what you get. There are some better options in the city.

We went here for our anniversary. The red snapper was bland. The bbq pork chop was undercooked, I had to send the food back. The only thing that was appetizing in this restaurant was the calamari. It was 94 degrees outside and 96 inside. The restaurant had no air conditioning blowing, just a few ceiling fan spinning. The waitress was attentive and apologetic. Regardless of the temperature outside or inside, he always drinks coffee.
