Hard to not enjoy the atmosphere here. I come to work when I need some chill time and focus, but they can get really busy too. Their specialty coffees are pretty fun. Would love to see them add something a little spicy to their menu. You're likely to find good food trucks nearby too.Dietary restrictions: They offer non-dairy options which is nice

Still thinking of the coffee I had yesterday with orange ginger and mocha. Too bad I'm out of state!

Tucked away in Roanoke near the hospitals, it has multiple rooms to sit in and many chairs. The parking lot is bad so be careful. Tasty beverages and very large pastries available for purchaseParking: Cramped parking lot not convenient to use

Love!!! We were staying in Roanoke and our favorite thing to do in Vacation is to find small coffee shops. This was the one we picked and we loved it. I had the orange silk latte iced. It was the perfect pick me up for our drive up further into the Mountains. It looks like it used to be a house which I love when places restore and rehab. Definitely reminds me of 'home'

He Said She Said ..

He Said: We swung in for a bagel early on a Saturday on our way to my parent's for Xmas. The bagel is from a local shop and is definitely good, but the ones we got may have been a day old (based on the texture). They really held up. We got them to-go and I wish the cream cheese had already been applied to the bagel. I would definitely like to come here and have a coffee and pastry, but we didn't have time for that. Very cool space in a former house. She Said: We always on the hunt for a good bagel, and Sweet Donkey delivered on that. I wish we knew what local bakery makes theirs, because they do a terrific job. Good flavor, and the chew on it was good despite the bagel being (probably) a day old. As we were leaving, someone was arriving with a delivery of the day's pastries, and we thought about turning around to grab some of the stuff that was fresh from the oven. As noted, the space is groovy, and if we lived in the area we would definitely be regular visitors. Potty Points: No trip to the potty for me today!

All the best coffee shop vibes, plus they have some hot food—not just muffins and cookies.

My husband and I visit Roanoke 2-3 times a year and ALWAYS have Sweet Donkey. Their coffee and tea are amazing and the staff is always so welcoming and attentive. I cannot recommend this coffee shop
