This place is so charming, atmosphere is like a little coffee shop vibes with a weird hipster twist to it. Lavender haze latte was absolutely DELICIOUS!! My cortado was robust with a beautiful flavor of chocolate on the finish.
Finding a coffee shop that was open at 7am on a Saturday in Roanoke was oddly harder than expected... but the drive to Sweet Donkey Coffee was SO worth it. The cappuccino was incredible! My wife tried (what was left of) mine back at the hotel and immediately made me drive back to get one for her.
We are considering a return trip to Roanoke just for a trip to Sweet Donkey.

I hate to leave a negative review because I spend a lot of time at sweet donkey. However there’s a barista that’s so unfriendly that I really have not wanted to go lately. She let me stand at the counter for over 5 min unacknowledged while she chatted & did random other tasks until I literally just walked away and has been really icy and unkind consistently since I started coming here.
