Pricing here is really insane.
2 cocktails $48 + tip = $58
Went down the street for round 2. Same exact order, half the price.
Honestly a bit shocking for Roanoke.

Excellent cocktails! Waitstaff moved the entire seating area around to create a huge living room to accommodate our very large group. Really comfortable and lovely!

The Vault offers a dining experience that is both intriguing and flawed. The food quality is good but not exceptional, with an unfinished feel to the overall experience. Dining on TV trays creates an awkward atmosphere, and the presence of drop cords and unfinished lighting detracts from the ambiance. The unsanitary bathrooms are a significant disappointment.
The restaurant's identity as a tapas venue is unclear on both the menu and website, leading to confusion. Serving practices are concerning, with unsanitary methods such as using thumbs inserted into the eating surface of bowls to deliver food. You use a tray to deliver food. Prices do not align with the quality of service or food. While the beet salad was a bright spot and is delicious, ingredient consistency varies, with some salads missing horseradish. Additionally, serving mains alongside appetizers makes it challenging to enjoy them before they cool. Improvements in these areas could greatly enhance the dining experience.
To improve the overall dining experience and align it with the value proposition, several strategies could be implemented:
1. **Enhance Food Quality and Presentation**: Use fresh ingredients and maintain consistency in dishes to ensure all customers receive the same quality.
2. **Improve Ambiance**: Address unfinished elements like drop cords and lighting to create a more polished environment. Stop performing service on TV trays.
3. **Refine Serving Practices**: Train staff to serve food hygienically and avoid practices like using thumbs to deliver bowls.
4. **Clarify Restaurant Concept**: Clearly communicate the tapas concept on the menu and website to manage customer expectations.
5. **Optimize Service Timing**: Ensure appetizers and mains are served separately to enhance the dining experience.

The Vault at Liberty Trust delivered on an amazing dining experience. From the time I arrived and let the Host know of my reservation I was treated exceptionally well by the Host, my server Leah, and all those I had contact with from the restaurant and from the hotel. My host arranged for the bartender to prepare me a Mocktail Pina Colada that was wonderful. My server Leah answered all the questions I had about menu items as well as about the restaurant itself and the historic building where it is located. To start with, I ordered a Caesar Salad, and for my main course, a C.A.B. Picahna Steak, and for dessert, I had the Peach Bread Pudding. Everything was well prepared and tasted delicious. Before leaving, my server showed me where the Vault was, and I was able to go inside it. She also gave me an Info Sheet with the History of the Liberty Trust. I highly recommend this restaurant to all.
The Vault is quite beautiful and the staff is absolutely lovely. I loved the ambiance and vibe of the place, but, honestly, expected something more from the food because the choices and ingredients looked to be “upscale” as a place and price like this deserves. Unfortunately, the implementation didn't live up to the descriptions.
3.5 ⭐ rounded up
The service was incredible! Everyone was very helpful and friendly. I had the tomato martini...also incredible. The food on the other hand was very average. We got 4-5 different things to share. It was good, but not great. For the price, most everything really should be great. We did enjoy the shumai though.

The Vault at the Liberty Trust is a unique space with an extensive bar and a number of couches and chairs in seating groups. There were also some tables with two or four chairs that you could sit at as well. The menu featured a number of $16 cocktails, a long list of tapas usually big enough for 2 people to share and 2 entrees - steak for $32 and a hamburger for $16. The food was interesting but we were expecting something different.

We dined here and got seated in the old bank vault. Fun! Here is the highs and lows of our dinner. Lows: our entrees came almost immediately after our starters were delivered. Poor timing and did not let us enjoy our starters as we should have. We both ordered the brazialian steak and I was disappointed in the temperature, portion and quality. Maybe being served almost the same time as our starter might have influenced my review here. Highs: we stopped at bar for a drink prior to dinner and the servers were delightful. The starters were wonderful. I had the crab dip and wife had the steak tartare. They were large enough to share - but we didn't. Very good food. Also shared a piece of cake at the bar after dinner. Hummingbird cake was delicious. We would return if we were in the area and share 2 or 3 staters and end with dessert.

Tapas menu with a wide variety of options. We had three plates for the two of us which was more than enough. All were delicious. Excellent hummingbird cake for dessert. And the drinks were great as well. Excellent service throughout the evening. We highly recommend the Vault.
Very delicious! Service was always perfect. They did not simply bring everything to the table. As you finished one item, the next was on it's way. That way cooks did arrived cold, and hot, hot.
The vibe, ambiance and service was excellent. But the food was pricey and low quality. We have been there for lunch. I recommend the place only for the experience, but not the food.

The Vault is a must try restaurant with unique and flavorful tapas style dishes. The atmosphere is both elegant but relaxed, and the prices are very reasonable for upscale quality food.
The blue-fin tuna with tonnato sauce is exceptional. The fish is sushi grade tuna that is very fresh and full of flavor. The tonnato sauce (like caesar but better) is incredibly good, that alone makes the dish.
The khachapuri, one of their signature dishes, is also a must try. It’s like a flatbread cheese pizza, but the Sulguni cheese is creamier like ricotta, and with flavor notes like feta Then add to it the richness of egg yolk and butter, and the Mediterranean herbs (oregano, basic, etc) all of which is mixed together with the cheese after it’s served. What you get is a rich, creamy, cheesy, buttery, herby dipping sauce for the bread.
The crème brûlée was a slightly less traditional style. The custard was steam cooked and chilled, so it had a texture more like clotted cream. It was also served in a deeper dish, giving it a higher ratio of custard to crust. I thought it was excellent.
The cocktail specials are tailored to the season, (summer in my case). Several bright gin drinks with creative ingredients and artistic presentation. All were well balanced and tasted as expected.
The atmosphere is a fun and interesting mix of styles. You can sit at the bar, high top group tables, intimate small tables, inside the bank vault, or in armchairs around coffee tables. The downside to this is there are only a few of each type of seating, so you may not be able to get your preference. Also, the music volume and style is a little more like a lounge/bar than a restaurant, not unpleasantly so, I enjoyed it, but it might seem unexpected for the upscale vibe.
Dietary restrictions: Menu does not specifically have options for gluten free or vegetarian/vegan, but there are a couple of options on the menu that would be suitable those on gluten free or vegetarian diets. No Vegan options that I noticed.
Parking: Roanoke city parking garage on Campbell has the best prices and ease of access.
Wheelchair accessibility: The building itself is accessible. The floors are flat with hard surfaces. The bathrooms sufficiently large for a chair.
There are three 2-person tables at standard height that would be suitable for a wheelchair user. The other tables are either high-top bar tables or coffee tables and arm chairs, which may be too high or too low for many wheelchair users. Though they do have movable side tables in the sofa section that could work.
