Amazing experience with great food and a wonderful atmosphere. We especially enjoyed our bar tender Steve and his signature old fashion as well as our server Michael who delighted us with his guidance during our food selection! Definitely will be back!

My first experience at Brood was celebrating my birthday there, and it was an unforgettable experience. The staff went out of their way to make the evening feel personalized, and every detail was handled with so much care. Our server, Michael, was absolutely excellent, attentive, warm, and engaging throughout the night. He struck the perfect balance of being professional while also making us feel completely comfortable and cared for.
The food was fantastic, each dish full of flavor and beautifully prepared. But beyond the food, what makes Brood stand out is the heart behind it. You can tell everyone genuinely loves their job, and it creates such a special, uplifting atmosphere.
This is truly one of the finest restaurants in the area. If you’re looking for an experience where you’ll feel valued, celebrated, and treated to amazing food and service, I can’t recommend Brood highly enough!

A new gourmet restaurant in Salem. Disappointed when the room was too loud for my wife. The scallops were drenched in garlic. Keep trying, guys!
Very cool restaurant that someone else in our group picked. It is different than places I usually eat at. I ate here on a Weekday evening and it was very busy. I recommend making a reservation. Great food choices on the menu. It took a long time to receive our food after ordering. Everything tasted very good. Should try this place if you are in the area.

Our experience at Brood was exceptional from start to finish. The food was outstanding—especially the pork belly appetizer—and the entrees were well-executed with flavors that complemented each other perfectly. They make a proper Old Fashioned and offer a solid selection of top-shelf bourbons. The Belgian waffle dessert was indulgent—an ideal finish to a great meal. The vibe and ambiance were spot on, and we’re already planning our next visit.

This place has my favorite small bar. The cocktails are amazing and the selection of spirits are fantastic. Very fairly priced hard to find bourbon. The bartender that works on Saturday nights is hands down the best bartender I've encountered. 100% recommend!

Have you ever had food that was cooked well but had absolutely zero flavor/taste? Well that’s what our experience was on May 31. We made a reservation and in the notes it was for a birthday but they asked us if we were here for restaurant week. Was very noisy. definitely need to work on the noise reduction and echoing in that building.
Everything was cooked well. But lacked flavor or even bare minimum of salt. We did request salt and pepper brought to the table.
The presentation of the pimento cheese where it’s pushed so hard onto the plate you have to fight it with the spreader to get off is very much a bad design. The “pickles” part of it should be more of just left off when you get three cucumber slices. threee carrot ribbons and some onions and that’s “pickles”
the Shrimp and Grits lacked any flavor. It was amazing the sauce tasted like nothing on it
the sausage with it creates a texture issue when it’s very chewy and hard. Again grits were cooked perfect and same for the shrimp but all lacked all flavor of anything but plain grits and shrimp.
the chicken was well cooked and juicy but had a minuscule amount of sauce for such a large portion and was just panko and chicken. zero flavor. The greens were the most terrible item tasting almost like a ketchup sauce.
the salmons idea of cole slaw was cut up cabbage and radish. The salt we did find was the potatoes which seemed to have had all the salt on them and were over salted.
the chairs are very much a design flaw and should be checked as they are not sturdy.

Mr.Steve the head bartender was a joy to have served us! My wife, wonderful woman, always has the worst time finding a good cocktail and Steve recommended one to us that was quite honestly otherworldly. Thank you all for your hospitality and next time we're in town we're stopping by again!

Steve, our bartender, was badass. He suggested a makers mark old fashioned that really hit the spot. 10/10 food, cocktails. Service. Do yourself a favor and give this place a shot if you haven't already. It's a small local place, and even though it was busy, they paid good attention to detail.

I can't speak highly enough of Brood Restaurant and Bar. Every visit has been an exceptional experience. Brood is 100% gluten free, but surprisingly does not lack in flavor. The seafood, poultry, and salads always leave my stomach feeling pure bliss. I'm also a fan of the focused cocktail list, but am very happy that the bar can crank out just about anything requested. Table service is prompt, friendly, and accurate. Brood is and will forever be me and my dad's birthday splurge!

Almost every dish is gluten free. The brunch was fantastic. I had the steak and eggs with potatoes and my wife had the Main Street Plate with Nueske’s smoked bacon. We had mimosas and Bloody Mary and both were excellent. Highly recommend and can’t wait to return for dinner.

We love Brood! The chicken schnitzel is our favorite; the chicken is good, but the grits and collards are what make the dish great! The wine offerings are diverse and and atmosphere is classy and nice without being stuffy. The staff is always friendly and service is quick, even on busy evenings. It's perfect for a small town date night.
