Based on the reviews, Hanging Rock Tavern is a great place with great food, including steaks, burgers, sandwiches, delicious salads, loaded nachos, the Hanging Rock burger, and Billy’s cheesesteak. The portions are huge and the taste is fabulous. The staff is very friendly, helpful, kind, knowledgeable, and considerate. The food comes out quickly. The atmosphere is great, with a beer garden for nice weather, live music on select day, and thoughtful outside dining with flowers and lights. They offer craft beer, an extensive cocktail menu, and excellent craft beers like Black light & Devil’s Backbone. It is a fun place to dine and spend time with family and friends. The prices are low, with a nice experience for 21 bucks. It is clean, and the staff is more than accommodating. It is highly recommended if in the Salem, VA area, and guests will not be disappointed.
