I’m out of town and whenever I pass through Sandston VA backwood barbecue is on the list of places to eat. Friday night is my favorite time to go and enjoy some live music.

Fast and friendly service, delicious meats and sides. I was surprised to find that my favorite sides were the green beans and baked beans but the mac and cheese and coleslaw were good too. Next time I'd like to try their spare ribs. Oh and don't forget dessert--the sweet potato cheesecake brownies were like a marshmallow sweet potato pie in brownie form.

My husband and I, first time customers, LOVED the smoked favor and tenderness of the pulled pork. I'm telling you the flavor was the bomb! And, their BBQ sauce - so tasty! Our sides, green beans, cheese fries and mac and cheese, were all so yummy. The gentleman at the front counter who took our order and also brought food and drinks to our table was helpful and very friendly. We will definitely be back. Can't wait to eat the pulled pork again and try the other meats!
