Everything here is absolutely amazing from the food to the servers!!! El Patron is like our second home!! Had my birthday dinner here and they made it feel very special!!
This is our 2nd time trying them since they moved. Unfortunately its only gotten worse. AVOID at all costs. Service was crappy, food, and even our margarita’s were nasty. Troys taquitos were supposed to be chicken but he got shredded beef which was unedible burnt to a crisp. Sat the plate to the side and just shared my burritos with him and they were barely edibile. The new building is very beautiful and huge! The server was very nice but couldn’t get it together. We ordered Molcajete for 2 people. We asked for plates. The Molcajete came out (for one) with only one rice and bean plate, 3 tortillas, no extra plates, not served in the lava rock bowl as typically done and also pictured on the menu (we get this all the time), missing shrimp and missing cactus from the dish. Based on the reviews, El Gran Patron Mexican Cocina & Bar is a restaurant with delicious, authentic Mexican cuisine. The food is made to perfection with amazing quality and very good portions for the prices. Specific meals mentioned include a juicy tamale that was 3/4 meat, and steak that was on point. The restaurant easily accommodates vegan dietary requests. The atmosphere is beautiful, the restaurant is very clean, and the environment is not too loud. The staff is warm, friendly, and always have huge smiles. The manager is the best, and waiters provide excellent service, always being attentive and kind. A young busy bee lady keeps tables clean and refills cups. Taco Tuesday crushes Chipotle and Taco Bell with $1.99 authentic variety of meats. The white sauce and chips are loved. Drinks seem a little expensive but add to the flare of the atmosphere.
