Passing through Staunton for the weekend, glad I stumbled across this gem. The pulled pork platter was delicious and the one guy that worked there was so kind always checking in if we needed more sweet tea or how he could make the food better. I also never thought about melting butter for my hush puppies. I love it! Whether you live or are passing through, I recommend this spot for some good food and service.
Big Red BBQ absolutely delivered. The pulled pork sandwich was outstanding, tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked with that true slow smoked taste you cannot fake. The fries were spot on too, making it a great all around meal.
You can tell this is the real deal, locally owned and BBQ done right, slow cooked on site to perfection.

I’ve been going to Charlie for my Staunton bbq needs ever since he opened. He is the friendliest, most accommodating person, and his food is always on point. Wish I lived in Staunton!
