The other top reviews notwithstanding, our (my wife and I) dining experience on Sept. 30 was definitely a mixed bag.
On the plus side: this is a handsome, warm dining room and the wait staff was friendly, attentive and well-informed. But while all that is important, the most critical component of any dining experience has to be the food, and in that regard this was a decidedly mixed bag.

Chop House Tavern is a great place to eat. My wife and I have been before and took our daughter and son- in-law recently. My daughter has Celiac disease and the waitress was very helpful in recommending the best dishes for her condition. It was greatly appreciated!
Chop House Tavern is nice, but not worth the wait in my opinion. The food is good, but they are a little stingy with their sauce. The meat they have here is well cooked, and the cuts are good, but I wouldn't sweat if it I couldn't get a reservation. The bartender here is good, but can be a little sassy and makes the experience less enjoyable. This is a nice place for drinks, but I would definitely go at a time that is not busy.
